Lovely looking thing that unfortunately no one will buy. At near 200K its just way too expensive. If rich folk aren't buying the Taycan they probably aren't going to stretch to one of these.

I'd love to know how fast the battery empties at that top speed. Its not a relevent stat in any way, but it'd be fun to know. 800bhp is ~600kw, which in theory would empty its 90kwh battery in 9 minutes, if everything was 100% efficient. so maybe 8 minutes? I guess it might not be using its peak power at top speed though - it should be a slippery shape so might only need ~400bhp

Er 280 miles is in perfect conditions ie 56mph following a lorry, real world prob 200 - then with EVs you don't charge over 80% if at a public charger as it takes ages so that's now 160 miles - drive enthusiastically and that's probably 100 miles.

Same as Mercedes (and others) it adjusts the amount of regen when you lift off the ‘leccy’

As to the Taycan, I think most civilians will think you are wealthier driving this over the much more common Porsche, as they obviously span a much wider price range.

I’m not buying one though!

And my V8 is exactly the same. In perfect conditions, It'll do 300 miles from a tank. It's usually 240-260. If it's the weather is worse, it's more like. If I drive it enthusiastically it's well sub 200.

And I don't let it get down to 0 miles, I fill it up when it gets to 50 mile range....and I have to drive somewhere to fill it up.

Pretty car but not cheap, I would imagine it would be a great companion on a summer euro tour mooching from one 5 star resort to another doing 150 leisurely miles a day whilst sight seeing and having long lunches.

I can see the appeal of a car like this in Europe during the summer, but I cannot see the appeal in the UK in the winter as everywhere is so drab, dirty and cold the thought of pulling into one of our service stations and sitting there for 30 mins doesn't appeal, but I watched a guy on YT cross Europe in the summer in a Taycan and I thought that looks fun.

If I lived somewhere warm and sunny I think I'd have a EV.

It looks fantastic but isn't the purpose of a GT blasting across continents at pace? Given the limited range owners would be spending more time charging and drinking coffee than accruing miles. Gorgeous EV but Price and not enough battery capacity will not help it.

If you drive it at high speed it won't do 280 miles will it. You might drive 100 miles without stopping I often do 160 on a trip. So will it do that many miles at 70 to 85mph if so then it's fine if not then range is an issue

But it isn't really is it.

It's more like a expensive bottle of vodka compared to an expensive bottle of champagne.

It technically does the same thing, with a different level of effort, and different taste. Some people would rather drink champagne, some people would rather drink a fine vodka. The vodka drinkers think the champagne drinkers are all about show. The Champagne drinkers think the vodka drinkers are missing the 'theatre'.
