Pretty much the same as any Maserati then. It’s doesn’t mean it’s uninteresting or a bad car. I’ve enjoyed every Maserati I have driven but I would never spend my own money on a new one.

Yet still far more appealing than the black vinyl seats with black carpets, black dash and door trim, with black headlining that most cars end up with.

You can put together some really nice colour specs on the website, they always seem to want something a bit marmite for press cars though.

If I buy one through my company I can take 100% of the value as capital allowances thus reducing corp tax.Or if I lease it a chunk of teh cost is saved in corporation tax.

You assume I am wealthy - sadly I am not

Being paid in dividends from my company, by the time I combine corporation tax and dividend tax the tax rate is 55% whether I earn £40k or £400k.

I don't think it's hyperbolic say less than 10. Less than 5 maybe...?

I guess they have no choice but to make it - or rather, they didn't have much choice when the product spec was signed off, but now we've learned much more about BEVs, this looks just the wrong wrong wrong segment for EVs to play.

• Nobody is going to buy EV sports cars, in any volume.There is not a shed of evidence for this - and it fails every common sense test.
• An EV Grand Tourer will always struggle to do the actual touring part, because not being a big SUV means it can't package as big a battery.

Daily drivers/white goods/appliances: cheap, smooth, clean, boring motoring. Keep EVs there, and encourage their demand through heavy tax breaks; don't force the supply side with targets OEMs can't meet, as it'll just end up with products like this thing: that nobody will buy.

Admittedly it must be a ball ache to make it rhd and hardly selling many but on the continent Maserati is still a very highly respective brand. I’m guessing the UK market is not what Maserati had in mind when releasing this.

How big do you think the overlap if those who can use significant tax breaks and buyers/acquirers of £160k+ GTs is?

And you're right that there isn't any evidence that target customers for sports cars will buy EV variants, but is there evidence that they won't?

I think the target buyers are people who like sports cars/fast cars and are open minded. Plenty buy Taycans. I like sports cars and have just ordered an electric hot hatch because its fun to drive

So on the PH Landing page we have an article stating 'Maserati culls electric MC20' then on the same page an article showing 'Maserati GranTurismo Folgore'

Not really a surprise. I can see the theoretic business case for an EV GT car. But an EV supercar? Perhaps a little premature for a brand like Maserati.
