Cadillac STS parked near me. I remember seeing these in the 90s and thinking that looked lovely to drive. I wonder if the scrappage scheme killed a lot of them off?

I knew somebody who had one as a company car in about 1998.

The Northstar engine killed them off, IIRC

Yep. Disaster of an engine and practically writes the car off if it goes. They did come with a V6 as well.

IIRC didn't they have ridiculously long service intervals.

I think it was 100k miles between oil changes.

Coolant, plugs/packs and maybe some other bits were 5 years/100k but not the oil!

The issue was the aluminium block and the awful head bolts which were TTY. Along with numerous other problems it had.

Gov MOT checker shows it has done only 50k. At that rate it'll need its first service in 2050!

London, this evening.

As noted before in this thread, it seems risking a £200 fine for no front plate is molto alla moda.

Given that most policing these days is done by speed cameras it doesn't seem a high risk strategy. I wish I had done the same in 2023 when a forward facing camera took my photo on the M40 in 2023!

And if you own a car like those I doubt £200 is much of a concern.

If it's repeated and seen as deliberate then it's 'perverting the course of justice', which technically can carry up to life in prison.

And there are, accordingly, thousands of more unassuming RS6 propositions for you to choose from - the GT is an appropriately rare and appropriately lavished-upon swansong for the platform in it's current format; and no doubt largely a factory response to the highly successful aftermarket world.

I'd have one in my fantasy garage, as the epitome of a lineage I have always adored.
Purple over tan, dark silver wheels, no decals, if you must know.
Great spot.
Indeed. And I have. A black on black stealthy one.

As I say, to each their own. An Audi estate to me is a great Q car with ludicrous performance rather than a shouty car in an A6 estate body. Clearly there are fans and it s nice to see in a world heading to electric only cars.
Some Audi estates might meet the definition of a Q car but an RS6 !!!?!? The thing is massively wide with massive tail pipes, even a non car person can see it's not a standard car. Which is why the GT, with the decals is cool, by having and RS6 you are already standing out from the crowd and if you are gonna do that you may as well do it properly and REALLY stand out

When I was a kid there used to be a few cars in Leeds with rally decals, wheels etc, even a Corsa, I always thought they stood out and for the right reasons, doesn't seem to a popular look these days but the GT is pretty close in my eyes

Your experience differs from mine then. I never noticed many paying much attention to the RS6 and presumed those that did were "car people". Family members etc even commented that they were surprised I had such a sensible Audi estate as they were used to me having something more obviously sporty.

Is there a citation for that?

It's actually a little carpark outside a couple of businesses, one of which is owned by Porsche driver.
Just the angle of the photo makes it look like it's on pavement.
