Three Deloreans in convoy this lunchtime on the A10 between Cambridge and Ely. What a great sight on an otherwise grey day. Apologies for my dirty, stone chipped windscreen!

Quite a bit of thought went into that plate.

88 = 88 mph?
PRV = engine code for the 3.0 V6?

PRV engine. Stands for Peugeot Renault Volvo. A PRV engine still to this day holds the top speed record at Le mans at 253MPH. Not in a DeLorean though!

Sadly no pic but a splendid looking guards red 911 Speedster (G registration) in Brighton earlier.

Looked superb yet small amongst the traffic.

I went to the PHSS this morning and found that TVR Sagaris' are like buses - you wait ages to see one then 2 turn up!

What's wrong with the plate, it's not been butchered?

2x Lambos in North Wilts this afternoon. One orange Urus (vomit) and one silver Temerario.

Initially I thought it was an SF90 from front-on, but was soon clear as the angle changed. With the lighter bodywork colour, the exposed rear tyres looked ace.

Thats the point, we all know what its suppossed to say, so its achieved its purpose without being butchered...so I still don't know what the issue is.

How do you know what it’s meant to say ?? Maybe it’s only meant to allude to something….

Nobody could pronounce Ayrton properly unless they were Brazilian. Murray Walker and others tried from the 90s onward and still butchered it!

Are you seriously suggesting that this:

On a McLaren Senna is not (clumsily) attempting to say 'Ayrton'?

AY is Ipswich and, as far as I know, there aren't any Mclaren dealers there, which means the owner specifically chose (and paid £250, no less) for it.

Nope I don’t say that at all. I think it’s quite smart as we all know what is being alluded to, so fair to say the plate isn’t butchered.
Unless of course it belongs to an Irish girl called Aédín ?

There is nothing wrong with that plate on a Senna.

The whole car is a tribute to the man and if someone wants a plate that continues that tribute then I really don't see the issue.

Exactly, it’s just a bit of fun on a car that’s purely for fun. Some right bores on PH.

Its a pretty terrible tribute to the man though.

Given the only road car he had any real advice on was the NSX, a car that rewarded good driving and didn't rely on a ton of technology so most people can drive it very fast without the skill.

I doubt he'd go for the overly complicated tricked up 720s that looks awful biggrin
