My old M5 drove past me yesterday, hope it's still local and he wasn't just passing through.

Yes I saw you smile We are practically neighbours as I live at the far side on the estate where we passed making it even closer to you! Spooky when I saw the V5 come through.

Regards,

Damian.

I've tried (twice!) to get in touch with the new owner of my old car to no avail.

I think it's in Swansea (ish).

It's a 1990 BMW E30 325i Touring - green - check my profile - registration number G710FSF. It's not been on the road since 2011 (when it was sold by the garage that I'd asked it to look into the engine issues it had).

If you know of it or are the owner - please do get in touch.

Thanks

The Savaloy.

Hi, I'm not sure about if people will be able to help me out on this but I'm on the search for a 1990 land rover discovery with the private plate of "C11MMA". Over 10 years ago my father had to get rid of the car due to financial problems and out of all the cars he has had in his life it was the only car which stood out to him the most. I've tried my best to find the car buy only found out the information that it's "Sorn, not scrapped, 9 previous owners including my dad, blue, 2.5 ltr diesel. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Has anyone on here ever been reunited with their old car?
I sold a car 5 years ago and instantly regretted it but sadly didn't have the space to keep it. It was only a Fiesta but it was the first car that I ever bought brand new, way back in 1998. Over the years I had ripped out and replaced pretty much everything with the oily bits of a Racing Puma, with a decent chassis and braking set up to match and it never failed to put a smile on my face when driving it on road or track. I was promised first refusal by the buyer if ever he sold it, but as he was buying it as a toy and to spare his 911 from track use I didn't hold out much hope of ever hearing from him again.

Four months ago a mate posted a link to the car on a popular auction site. My wife insisted that we bought it back. It transpired that the chap I sold to was true to his word and had tried to contact me but to an old email address that I no longer use. Upon hearing from me again we struck a deal and he closed the auction, making me the first and third owner on the log book with less than 8k miles covered under his tenure.

It has been great to be reunited and the car is to be refurbished and brought up to date with an ecoboost conversion in the new year.

I subsequently discovered that the seller was offered more for the car than we agreed between us but turned it down in order that the car could return full circle. Thoroughly nice guy.

I had a Clio 172 for 9 years that saw me through the whole beggining of my adult life, during ownership I completed my uni HND, got my first proper job, got engaged, moved into 1st house, got married, had first child, got better job, got bigger house, had second child. I also learnt a huge amount about maitenance and mechanics, and also handling and driving experience as went on loads of adventures, sadly and regretably I sold it a few years ago.

I managed to trace it recently as its now a succesful hill climb championship car.

Does anyone have any idea about the whereabouts of my father's 1990 land rover discovery? It had the private plate put on by us "C11 MMA". Would love to have it back as it holds so many happy memories. Thanks

No record of it on any of the checking sites (Tax, MOT, HPI etc.) so presumably it too has passed away. 101s used to dissolve in heavy rain so it's one of the least likely cars to be long-lived.

Trying to find what happened to my other Smart, bought after the red one earlier in the thread was written off (it passed its MOT again in November so its still on the road according to https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk ) . Anyway, its replacement was a silver ForTwo, KP08 UJU. It was part exed in 2015 when I got the Skoda Citigo I have now. I didn't think much of this at the time, but after I had the Skoda, I think it was last year, I had a HPI letter asking for the mileage of the Smart when I sold it, I filled in the letter as best I could and returned it, thinking it was somebody looking to buy it and going to HPI for a history check. The registration KP08 UJU now does not exist on the MOT site. Below is the photographic evidence of it, so what's happened since 2015?

I would love to find my Dad's old Audi 100 Avant in Blue. reg H268 UWP He traded it in in Derby in 2000, having done a HPI check I can see that it hasn't changed hands since and was taxed until 2002 but hasn't been since. It's not showing as having been scrapped. I imagine it's sitting in someones garden somewhere but I would love to track it down!

Hello
That Smart was registered under X3 YUD for about a year, between May 16 and Apr 17, at which point it changed hands. It's still going strong. smile
