Suspension parts "are milled from solid billets, undergo surface treatment and are then power coated."

Presumably that's because the engine could not contain all the power?

Or maybe it has to do with the active suspension system.

Why does Venice have a motor show?

nobody went to the Venice international Punt show.

In days of yore, Touring did a very nice version of the Sunbeam Alpine called the Veneziana which was launched (is that the right word ? !) in Venice, I believe (and I think they had a re-union of about 20-odd survivors there). Cars were photographed on a barge in front of St Marks.
And my point ?
It was a lot prettier car than this......

This thing, monstrosity or whatever you call it is doomed to failure....it is yet another Super car which arrives in a blaze of publicity to only disappear up there own exhaust pipe. The thing is mega expensive, and pig ugly!!!, The biggest problem it will have is building a brand equity and reassuring customers that the company will still be there in 12 months time. These sort of punters want to drive a car which is instantly recognised by any and everybody.....If they make any more than half a dozen I would be surprised

Was thinking the same thing.

Some of the best driving roads in Europe are in the mountains near Venice. Wasn't a Bentley launched there?

The Pagaini is not a pretty car by any means.....but is exquisitely built, and has some sort of Brand identity.....certainly helps when the likes of Horatio Pagani has considerable automotive experience and is seen as a credible manufacturer

"We start at the point where others have already given up."

There's a good reason the others gave up. I can only assume that the 'others' had absolutelely no design sense!

Buy an Ultima, cheaper, proven, better looking, it exists and is probably quicker anyway.

Record bonuses in the City
Mullets are back (among some quarters)
Power dressing is back
The PM has, after ten years, become incredibly unpopular and will be replaced by an uncharismatic politician presiding over a split Parliament
Bands are using electric drumkits again
People are buying cars in bright red and white again
The brutal new Bond is portrayed straight from Fleming's books
The press are following around the Prince's girlfriend
The Rolling Stones are on another comeback tour

And every other week someone releases a supercar that strangely, is never seen again...

also

Turbos are seeing a resurgence in popularity from manufacturers
Porsche have a range of different models again
Silly stick on Graphics and stripes have made something of a comeback
The Golf GTi is once again something you might actually want to buy
The BMW 6 series has returned

scary Road_Terrorist isn't it?
However regarding this car specifically:

a) Yep it does look like an ZondEnzo with possibly a hint if F50 in the nose too.
b) It does look a bit Lego.. (but it may grow on me)
c) Most importantly.. You CANNOT have too many Supercars... Lets enjoy them while we still are allowed to turn the steering wheel and press the pedals...!!!!

As DJC will probably know I'm not a massive fan of the Zonda either and this newcomer does bare a simplified resemblance to it.

I don't really know what everyone is getting so het up about.

If Beck make a go of it and manage to build up a new brand then good on 'em! If not let's hope that those involved will take the no doubt valuable experience gained developing what is bound to have been a amazing project under the skin on to other cars with a more secure futures and a higher likelyhood of anyone here getting to enjoy them...

...be honest, that is why a lot of people object to projects like this, isn't it?

Time to get out of this "Slag it off first, ask questions later" mentality IMO. That goes for me as much as anyone before you flame me.

The photos are clearly only a Styling buck. The windows and headlamps are still solid, the rear light are just the same hella units used on the Marcos TSO shoved in a hole and there seems to be some way to go before the "look" is integrated enough for current expensive tastes or current legeslation for that matter. This design I'm sure will mature and streamline quite a bit before we see a road homologated runner.

As I said all IMHO, but I do have a little idea what I'm talking about.

the 2005 Concept looks insanely purposeful - that would be the only Supercar for me - if it existed...
