Yesterday we visited the old Wiesmann Factory. In October we will go again to the freshly build factory, the opening and open day, which will also show the Wiesmann GT V10.

Here some picture's of that day made by one of our 20 people tour people, it was a nice day organized by Klassiekerrally Winterswijk and GT Modelbouw.

Damn right they do make some special wheels there in Germany:

Since everyone fell for the Oberstürmbahnführer's choice: this Whermacht grün is the perfect opener: Blitzkrieg!

The brawny BMW V8 engine of the Wiesmann-GT accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. Ta!

This red coupe for me.

Feck me!

Wiesmann's are quality cars and stand out. The roadsters have that C-type feel and the coupe's are a bit like the Cerbera's nicer brothers. Dad can't make a choice . . .

Interior is porn. And very well thought of.

Yellow - tweaked a bit here - would not be my choice. But hey, I would not say 'no'.

Classic black 'n red interior combi here.

Obviously there's one of those yum sixpots rolling in. Engine sounds way different compared to Beemers fit. They do the piping at the factory . . . looking pretty open.

Up next: a pearly one for the hairdressers and inside the factory.

Cheers guys.

lovely cars, but aren't the wheels a bit to wide? They seem to stick out too much for me, maybe a cm more in?

Just a bit of flu, that's all . . . I'll take it easy. Fat food is no problem for this guy BTW hehe

More:

The coupe has it all. If you skip the 'it's-a-retro-car'-thingy than there's nothing that's wrong other than beauty, presence, elegance and stylee. To me it says: I'm powerfull but I don't have to eat you all. And that's how it sounds as well.

GTRene (left) and Wim Klassiekerrally (right) discuss details. And there are a lot! This product is so well made, at the highest quality standards as well. Everything fits perfect, I couldn't find one fault. Love that gekko-logo.

Are you guys coming in or what!

Not before I snapped this hairdressers choice, pearlwhite . . . Would suit a dentist smile

The Roadsters look a bit shorter . . . They sould try a shooting brake, since they're in fashion.

I said it. Rene's beastie here, he took me for a little spin and it is fast. Decent V8 propels this Z3 ffw the way it should: in utter comfort. Interior is made to make long distance journey's a proper outing. I should say this car is a GT. Thanks Rene thumbup

Welding the muffler for the exhaust.

Although this old plant does maintainance and repairs mostly, some new stuff is still done here: chassis here, seats, electrics . . .

Up next: the factory-tour.

Fantastic cars and one day I'd love to own one .. But one question. Where does the lizard that they use for a badge come from? Kind of an odd symbol to use. Any ideas?

It's like TVR should have been.

That V10 will be a monster, if it's that quick in the bargearse M5 and M6 imagine how quick it will be in the lithe little Weissman!

How does one go on these factory tours? Are they scheduled or need to be specially arranged?

It's a gecko:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gecko

Sticky creatures, as are Wiesmanns . . . wide tires and all.

Amazing really these cars are totally handcrafted, the whole place is a big workshop.

Whether it's a broken ragtop, a scratched body or an interior fix: roll 'em in and it will get done here. Pretty efficient too . . . Foreground: a new exhaust in the making.

New W'mann's ready for the road, covered by typical W'mann-cloth. I wish a pyama's in those!
Second floor is created by steel layers / bridge.

The six is the perfect match for the Roadster.

Not covered by plastic: a treasure for the eye.

Crowded workfloor.

It's time to move up to the upholstery-dept.

Up next: seats, stiches, wires and rimms.

Heya Ben! Cheers mate, glad you like 'em as well. Wim just called the factory and they're all happy to guide a 20 enthusiasts around. New properties will be opened in October . . . I saw some drawings and it's a bit bigger than this here. Should be worth a detour after the Spa 6 hrs thingy. wink

When of course we will meet Ben! More pics to come.
