It's ironic that the best color for an F1 would have to be Rosso Corsa.
There is one in Rosso Corsa. It's definitely not the best colour for the car.

I don't think Flemke should ever need to worry about the expansion of ANPR or the introduction of road tracking / pricing. His movements on the road seem pretty well documented on this newsgroup.

Tough being a celebrity I guess smile

[quote=uriel) It then occurred that orange seems to be a fairly common (relatively) colour for F1s, unless it's just all the press pics of the one below and one particulr orange car that gets out and about more than most, and I never made the link between the car and McLaren Orange

Are these cars below all the same colour, just different here due to lighting/cameras/film/digital reporduction or are they all different shades, are they even McLaren Orange (could the F1 be Papaya(?))

I quite like the orange as it appears on the older cars like the M6 GT there, pretty muted and as about understated as orange can be and being so ubobtrusive it'd allow you to see the shapes and lines of the car without distracting from them. I think it'd be nice to have a colour with a history and heritage to go with the car. It'd make a nice change from the garish and flashy orange F1s out there (the Kennedy car!).

That is of course, if the orange F1s there are aren't in fact McLaren Orange already in which case I'll hang my head in shame and scuttle of to study Driving Ambition some more.
[/quote].........uriel, the colour (papaya orange) comes from the heritage & traditional racing colour of new zealand, the birthplace of the companies founder bruce mclaren, sadly ruined on the "bling" ex kennedy car, thanks, Mr B.
