It needs to be turbocharged
180 bhp will not be enough
180bhp would be more than enough. The floorpan has been rusting nicely since 1976.. much more power could pull the drivetrain straight out through the radiator in a cloud of brown dust.180 bhp will not be enough
The woody with the s/c V8 looks very fun.. even the wheels look standard at first glance.
The Allegro WAS designed by the man responsible for the TR7 and Princess, but that was Harris Mann, not Spen King.
The SD1 was styled by David Bache (As were P5 and P6), and as such has nothing to do with it.
Excellenet project, always fancied one with the 220 turbo lump in it myself.
Had a tatty but low milage T-reg 1.3 for a couple of months back in the late 90's, loved it.
Remember going to the 77 or 78 Motor show with my dad where he bought a 1750HL in metalic blue, he then had a full length sunroof put in it.
The 1750HL was the posh 4-door version of the SS/Equipe (as the later sporty ones! were called).
Heard through the grapevine many moons ago bout an All-agro fitted with a Metro turbo lump.
Probably an easy conversion as same A series engine but with more bits hanging off it.
Prob a good idea to check out the Mini or Metro forums on other sites for reassurance/guidance.
Good luck, keep us posted.
