Great little car . . . Now that V6 is really a loveable little beastie.

I'm lucky enough to have driven two V6s for quite a while on some nice roads and yes, bags of character, a surprising amount of refinement and feels really special when you're driving it. It could do with a bit more power - that's my only criticism. Oh, and the parts rices are horrific! It's those Organutan proportions that I lack, and if I hadn't got of the car hobbling on numb ankles clutching my back I'd have bought one straight away Great little car . . . I've driven both the Clio and the Integra (the dc2). The Clio was great fun in a chuckable kind of way, but the Integra for me was the better machine. Better communication from the controls, more feeling of involvement, higher satisfaction from getting the most from it. More of a sense of occasion when you drove it, too.

306 gti-6 anyone!! I use one as my station car and it is just so much fun round the country roads, absolute ball! So far no problems to speak of. Best thing was it cost me £2,800!
I might be being a bit thick here, butStation car? is that a car you use generally just to drive to the railway station and leave there so you can hop on the train into London?
or
you work for the police force or fire service and it's a works car?

Would love to try one at some point to see how improved over my Phase 1 172 it is.

Have driven a 182 back to back with my GTi-6 - they are very closely matched. I absolutely love my Peugeot, it really is as good as people make out - like the Clio. Pointy, sharp, grippy. You can drive it on the throttle like a a proper sports car - it encourages you to hold the gears that little touch longer, the 6psd box means your never left struggling between gears.
The Clio has a touch more power, better seats, better brakes. But the Peugeot has a better driving position, lower down, 6 cogs. The best, and worst, thing about the 306 is that it is completely anonymous.
Note to the PH Webmasters - PLEASE sort the photos out. You keep doing this, and its hugely annoying.
Whats the point of having lots of great shots of your subject matter, having them clickable - only to open the same .jpg thumbnaail in a tiny window?
It cant be that hard to get some big (1000pixels plus) resolution versions on your server and link to those can it, really?
ive had 2 trophies - amazing little cars indeed. sold my last one around a month ago.
wife drives a 182 cup - again amazing little car.
can't rate them enough. driving an m roadster at the moment and the clio 182's really run it close for all round entertainment.
great value hero cars in my opinion.

I've tried most of the french hot hatches, and, other than the shit build quality, everytime they are let down by the same thing - the seats and the driving position.
My first "hot hatch" was an AX Forte 1.4 (A GT without the alloys and spoiler to keep the insurance down) and even though it's probably the most fun and best handling car I've ever owned, I had to sell it after 3 months cos of the terrible back pain and aches I was getting on my hour each way commute.
It was a real shame as my commute included the Cat and Fiddle and loads of other great A and B roads!
Everything else about that car I loved. Shame.

There quite squat - low, square and short. Mine is noticeably smaller than my previous Escort, and to drive it feels very small. Very 'placeable'.
My mother bought a 207 last year. I was amazed how big it was in comparison to my old GTi-6. Best car I've owned (not that I've had many...)Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
