Things like this enrage me enough to think that we should napalm every council estate in the UK. I know thats a bit extreme but you can see my point.

Criminal damage if more important than speeding on all area priorities. More officers investigating criminal damages in one fore than are probably involved in speed enforcement nationwide.

zero tolerence policing - Very resource intensive but does work. It also criminalises normal people a you deal with every offence you see, littering. no tax. public order. vehicle offences. The biggest impact is upon the average joe. Thats one reason its not put in place more.
I'm not sure I can agree with you there - I keep hearing about instances of vandalism (I've reported two!) where all the police do is issue a crime number. Then I go for a drive and see:-
- Scamera vans (don't you DARE say that's not police - who the **** are sitting in the back aiming the gun???)
- Unmarked plod (and the occasional marked pursuit car)

So you see the empirical evidence in my area suggests otherwise...that speeding IS a bigger priority, and even more so when you include SCP resources (which frankly you have to).

PS - had a great idea.

You know they're busy setting-up congestion zones. Well why not operate them in reverse? Charge these scrotes for leaving their enclaves, and let all decent people move out. biggrin

Of course, once the city centres have deteriorated into a mire of Poundshoppers and Cheque-cashing outlets, no-one else will ever need go in them again. We then wall the ****ers up...

Good grief does that happen a lot? I don't know of any cases where I live and there are some seriously nice motors in the town.

What's the betting it was done by an enviro-nutter?

I don't think the pollution caused by the paint stripper would count this out as that would imply joined-up thinking ...

+ 1 here.

My car has been done twice and on neither occasion did I manage to ellicit more out of the police than a crime number. I found out that, the second time it happened, they were patrolling a bus lane en-masse which is why the excuse 'too short of manpower' was given for not being able to send someone! I even know who did my car over (same person both times) and the street they live on, but the police couldn't even be arsed to go and knock on doors until they reach the right house.

So I pay tax for the police, but the police are useless, so I have to insure myself against crime, but because my premiums will go up so much if I claim I then decide it'll work out cheaper if I pay out of my own pocket for the damage instead. So in all I'm paying three times for something that shouldn't happen in the first place.

I had this done to my car a few years ago frown. I reported it to the police and even drove it to the station so they could look at it, the guy behind the desk won't look or even get anyone else to view it.
It's not nice and is now in the past, the paint on mine was literally sliding off the sides..........gutting.

Very foolish, as now there's evidence - forum account details, IP addresses, etc.

Of course, from the sounds of things the victim might not WANT to involve the police now. But still...

:yes It's a cowardly thing to do. Bit silly posting that on a public forum, let's hope the IP was logged and the perpetrator was at home!

yes

Much as I would never condone this, there ARE things which may explain the action (if not justify it, if you will note the difference). Perhaps things that the law wouldn't really be interested in...

well only what one would expect from benefit culture misfits...i had to go and see a customer in the meadows area of nottingham today (lets just say not the nicest area) and the amount of people roaming around the streets of working age was amazing.benefits should be a safety net,not a lifestyle choice...

Not to the same level but a bunch of a neighbours children (known for being the sort of children who shouldn't have come into the world, the mother too) found it great fun to kick footballs at my car after I spent much of the day with the Tcut and wax shortly after buying it.

Its bloody awful the lack of respect some people have.
The police as well, even faining interest may have helped the chap even if there isn't anything they can really do.
I had a big problem a few months back with kids playing football outside my house and hitting the car and the house with it. Being the careless little scrotes they were they always left the ball at the end of the street. Come 11pm, (after the little dears have gone to bed) I went out, took a stanley knife to the ball and kept it in my garage until bin day which I then put in other people's bins at night time.

They haven't so much as kicked a ball in over 2 months.

Oh great. Another beardy, unelected, fantasy contrived (God, who?) real world removed person to tell us we should give them all a free holiday instead.

Newsflash pal, we are not criminalising them, they are criminals. To earna custodial, they aren't exactly out scrumping for friggin' apples, trust me.
