Yes, some people on PH do still try and pull the leg of other people on PH.
Maybe raise a smile, maybe get a witty reply. Who knows.
Either way, no harm done. Apart from to you, seemingly.
But no one really cares about you.
Why the need for the 'no one cares about you' jab
Just makes you sound like a tit

That's brilliant! Could run them around the walls too for when doing some detailing work.

Added another Carcoon but this time with lights!

Put doors/ partition on another car port. No makes 7 bays .. 2 car ports, 4 enclosed bays and 1 bay for workshop. The only downside is that the bays depth is really short at 4.65m as its an old agricultural building. Classic cars fit but modern cars are just a bit too long.

Is that a 3/4 size E-type or did you leave it out in the rain?

Here are a few of my garage. The ramp allows me to still put two cars in there side by side, as I can drive over it. its also really versatile as I use it as a bike lift as well.

I have a workshop to the side with a lathe, drill, bead blaster, welder and an old milling machine, and a store above the garage via the stairs

Cracking garage, cracking car!

I have a 55 aswell, how much under carriage space does this particular scissor lift give you? Would you be able to remove a gearbox from it for instance? (I think my rear main seal is leaking!)

Have a double garage, 2 post lift would be nice but ultimately limits the usable space around it for parking etc. Can you alter the width of the ramps on your lift or is it fixed?

Thanks

I have a ramp a bit like that from Strongman, the width is fixed. You lift the car on rubber blocks so you have loads of access, yes you can remove the gearbox easily. The only bits this restricts really are the side skirts of the car and there isn't a lot there to get to but you could easily use larger blocks if you needed to get there.

You can hang the rear of the car off the back a little too but as there is a lot of weight on the back of the car I would want to strap the car securely on to the lift and possibly add a high axle stand to the back, just in case.

I have mine sunk in to the garage floor so when it is down the garage is 100% normal.

What's it like for insurance? I had trouble at my last address with my wooden "garage". It was basically a glorified shed to be honest. Insurance wouldn't cover the car as garaged. Had to insure it as on the driveway.

There was also an issue with having a wooden structure containing anything flammable within a metre of the property boundary.

Not meaning to piss on your chips BTW!

You are best off not insuring as garaged as the insurance can be invalidated if your car is stolen at night off your home driveway as it should always be garaged. It is fine if away from home. This was explained to me by A Plan insurance brokers.
