Yeah as guru stated they are new age units from costco. Im very happy with them. Great value for money! Looking to fit a tv next so i can watch moto gp etc and have a seating area with a table.
Yes they were a great price. I paid £800 for that set last month as they were on a Hot Buy deal. I just went back to see how much they are now and they have gone up to £1900.

I have started looking at options for my new garage and the builders dont offer an optional upgrade of floor thats different from the basic concrete slab.
Having read through this thread with various amounts of envy and jealousy I have decided on either tile (porcelain for durability) or pressed concrete with a hardened resin top coating but aware that I want a light floor - light cream or white so not sure if this will rule out the concrete option(s)
The garage will be mainly used for a weekend car and possibly the Mrs' daily (but her car doesnt get used much - literally maybe once a week) - I do like the idea of tile and it will look great, but unsure if pressed concrete will provide any advance?
Also, storage, debating on purchasing an additional kitchen for fitted storage vs freestanding cabinets etc... Its not going to be an expensive kitchen, Ikea carcasses and doors etc are most likely
Thoughts or further gratuitous pics appreciated

i went for a 'proper' 2 pack epoxy, it goes off rock hard and hasn't lifted at all, slight scratches occur when you drag heavy jacks around, but not too bad.
my concrete sub base was really soft because there was too much water in the original mix to make is level easier (me being lazy biting me in the arse later on) so the installation tool knocked gouges out of the concrete ending up in a less than perfect finish. on proper concrete it is like glass. you can choose light colours as well. look into it

they have an orbital 'scraper' that takes off the high spots, they then fill in the low spots and continue until it is smoooooth, they then seal it
a layer of the epoxy is then laid and allowed to go off, it is then scraped again and any remaining holes filled
another couple of layers are added and then you have the finished product
you can see the gouge marks in my soft concrete, he couldn't improve on it, it really was quite chalky and crap. but that is just a cosmetic flaw, the product is rock hard....
Obviously they are nowhere near you, but this is the lot that did mine, the website should give you enough search terms to get a sensible hit local to you.

Greg’s is the dog’s cajonies as far as epoxy floors go, but if you fancy epoxy but not to that level, look into getting some off ebay in the two pack and rollering it on, which’ll do the main job of keeping the dust down. If you want warehouse floor levels of finish and flatness, go Greg’s route.
I did mine in a mid-grey and four years on it wants another coat really as the jack has marked it 8n a few areas, but it’s been pretty hardy. I could tile my largish single garage (18sqm) for about £270 (tiles only) but it’ll be OTT and while it’ll look superb, I’ve got other areas of the house I want to spend the money on.

When you say 'they', do I assume you had a firm in to do the work for you? Who did you use? Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
