They are pretty soft though
Not sure I'd have them on the floor - I suppose you could put wood down for the jack etc ...
I have a few on my bench I work on top of ...
The hard plastic ones are nice but to me are pretty expensive - more expensive than porcelain tiles in some cases to buy!
You could lift a tile out for jacking, just like if you need to replace a damaged one.Not sure I'd have them on the floor - I suppose you could put wood down for the jack etc ...

As you say, if was using my garage to do work on the car I would bite the bullet and get tiles.
I sometimes use a couple of them to kneel on if working low down at the rear of the car, but what are they like to walk on - is it like walking on foam (cos you actually are) ... they look VERY thick in that linked vid - although I appreciate that may have just been to show what they are generally like, not as a guide to what thickness your ones are ...
My car is currently on dollies, and is easy to swing about on the concrete floor but I wonder how easy on the foam?

I love the last two garages posted from Tickle and divetheworld!
This year I really need to sort out the inside of my garage - it was my summer project for 2015, but life has got in the way. The plan had been to board/insulate the ceiling, but the garage door fixings are onto the roof joists, so I'm not sure if it will be possible. So the current plan it just to do the floor, probably with plastic/rubber tiles and give the garage a good tidy up - when it was built in 2014 it looked like Tickle's, after 4 years of use it is a lot messier!

Mine has far too much in it, the answer is to build a large additional 12’ x 8’ insulated shed to the side and empty the garage so it only has the bikes, tools and bench in. A project for this summer. This year I really need to sort out the inside of my garage - it was my summer project for 2015, but life has got in the way. Good idea to have a shed or something close Gunk, cos that garage doesn't look very wide - no car would go in there! With or without all the stuff either side of the bikes, I'd hazard ...
It’s a standard 1980’s single garage, the shelving makes it look narrower than it is. My old 911 used to fit, just. That’s before all the shelving went up and it slowly filled up with crap.Just moved house (rental) and have this as a blank canvas, 12mx4.5m.
Stairs to the house are at the back. Means i can stop renting warehouse space 30min drive away and be able to get my projects finished quicker.
First jobs are to install a/c, an auto garage door opener and bring all my kit across whilst ensuring storage ‘creep’ from upstairs doesnt occur. Will update as i go along.

Tickle's garage looks so good because of those old bricks and the wooden floor above giving some cosiness with those downlighters.
If it was plasterboard or white breezeblock it wouldn't have the same feel!
Mine is also brick inside, but 20yo bricks - so not a patch on yours. Can't bring myself to paint them white though but might do them with the PVA as yours look to have a kind of sheen on them ...
One of the best looking ones though for sure.

I had a separate shed built at the same time for gardening stuff - the garage is for cars, bike and tools for fixing cars/bikes only. The wife fully understands that it isn't for anything else!
Good man. We have the same rule, though it has to be enforced from time to time. My wife is a hoarder and she has filled every nook and cranny of our house with crap. It is NOT happening to the garage. So said:

Absolutely. Garage is for motoring stuff and motoring stuff only. Shed is for gardening stuff and gardening stuff only. Boarded loft is for all other stuff but before it is stored it a) has to be useful and have a credible future use; b) has to be working and unbroken; and c) has to be applied for storage in triplicate by Mrs Garvin. Everything else goes to the tip (or eBay/Gumtree)
My sentiments too! We have Disney videos in bags in the loft from when the kids were young. They are now 27 and 23 ffs,Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
