Hi, A plot has come up at the rear of our house although not directly behind it. It's roughly 13mx17m so an ample workshop/car storage. Wondering if it'd be a bit big as a single building, and weary the required rough height may make planning a challenge.
Any tips welcomed
Pop in to see your planners. You shouldn't need an appointment just chat to them about your thinking. Any drawings or sketches will help. Any tips welcomed
Watching it recorded so not at the end yet. Researchers clearly didn't find this thread and contact some PHers eh. Either not garages or mediocre garages so far.
Hat's off to Pete Waterman though. Not a garage obviously but I can see the attraction of having your mates round building a project like that for years. Good crack I'm sure.

I've been doing some work to my largish single in the past week or so. I had an old set of kitchen units down one side but they were too deep (albeit the work surface was a nice real wood one) - so I threw the carcass out, built a frame and sliced the top down and now it goes all the way along - helped by some loft boards. Used the offcuts for some shelves. Shifted the Datsun banner and moved the TV up and across a bit - just in the interests of more space and some easier storage. Put some more sockets in and also added another light up top. It's a nice place to work ... double glazed as well, which I did last summer with units from ebay.

Looks great, practical and you wont mind dropping greasy bits on it.rodericb said:
That framework is something else - it's like a church or something. Hopefully you'll keep all that and you can sling a sign over the front door saying "cathedral of grunt" or something along those lines!
I laughed out loud when someone suggested getting rid of some of it to make more space. It’s absolutely beautiful. I wouldn’t change a thing.
