Ha ha ha. Yes it does sound a bit weird. It’s basically a metal frames 3 shelf thing on wheels. Useful to have tools/beer/laptop/ashtray on. Can see it and the also home made workbench on wheels in these.

Turned out nice.

Noted. biggrin
Ha ha. Yes mate, happy with it. A lot of it smart enabled too so smart switch on the garage door that switches the lighting on and plays the F1 Chain on opening. #bigkid Can't stretch to air con down there so the 2 big industrial fans will have to do. To be fair, as its built into the side of a hill its often the coolest part of the house (and warmest mid winter).

Next plan is to add the other 4 cars once the budget recovers from the purchase. You two are welcome anytime obvs.

I would have thought most landlords would be happy to benefit from an improvement if the electrics were installed in a decent manner. I assumed 105 was seeking to extract value with any of the installed fixtures by having them moveable on vacating the property.
you would assume so, but there are liability issues around not having the right pieces of paper! In fact, not many landlords would allow the works in the first place unless it was done by a competent, qualified person with the work signed off to the relevant standard.

there's not a single thing more likely to burn the house to the ground more than the tenant fiddling with the electrics on the cheap...

Good point well made.

He’s not on about removing electrical infrastructure for fun, it would be a condition of his rental agreement that he returns the space as he found it.
My comment was in support of the fact that conduit is easy to remove when necessary.

A bit of both to be honest chaps.

It’s nice to have options. In this case the option to leave the install or take the majority with me.

I completely understand where you are coming from Greg and the concerns you’ve raised are very valid ones.

There’s a difference between doing things on the cheap and getting value for money out of a job.

I already have 2/3rds of the lighting required down at my Unit, and I’ll be using the same mate (sparky), for the electrical installation in my garage as what I used down at my Unit, and there’s been zero concerns there for the last (nearly) four years. If anything the electrics at my Unit are over-engineered for obvious safety related reasons.

The last thing I want is for my garage to burn down with a couple of my cars and all my tools in there, all for the sake of saving £50 on materials. With the MIG welder, the large air compressor and other power hungry tools such as the angle grinder, the electrical install in the garage also needs to be comfortably up to the job.

Does look like a nice enough space, and plenty of room for a few more 'toys'. driving

To the left of the CCTV photo there is enough room for 3 cars nose to tail. To the right, there is room for one at the back and possibly one at the front but they each have to be fairly narrow to manoeuvre around the pillars. I have a few ideas of what will fill where.

My partner banned me from spending any more on the garage so I reverted to marketplace for cash bargains and any furniture that I deemed could be used down there wasn't actually spending.

Mine needs a bit of a clean.

I've ended up with at least two old kitchens in my shed, with various other bits of worktop, old bookshelves and so on. Some of the other businesses on the same place do kitchen and bathroom refurbs, and sometimes cupboards make their way back in a state where they can be rebuilt. I prefer a cupboard to a set of shelves because it keeps the dust off, but kitchen stuff is not big enough to store everything. As I'm usually restoring something - so a lot of grinding, welding etc - a lot of dust is created. I'd love to have it sparkling clean all the time, but it's not practical at the moment.

Is that two semi-detached double garages, each with rooms above but belonging to different houses?

Never seen anything like that before on a non detached basis.

Best garage? Not mine. But i'd say it counts as 'more than handy'.

760 bhp, high end, do-anything estate car. 200+ mph.

Quirky, rare, classic little commuter car. About 80 mph on a good day. Weird but nice.

160 bhp 3 wheeler sleeper. Faster than i dare go for in that contraption! But 120+ is easy.

100+ mph 125cc motorcycle. 40 bhp from only 125cc (n/aspirated) is pretty amazing.

210 bhp supersports motorcycle. From just 2 cylinders as well.
