Here is "mine", which I share with friends. Old railway depot.
..so how does this work? did you all chip in and buy it? you all chip and and buy the lease? one guy owns it and lets it out to enthusiasts?

i love your build bay. awesome.
Thanks mate! It's two of us who rented the place subleasing to the other enthusiasts.

Sadly the railway company is currently reviewing all contracts as they are planning to develop the estate. The pics are quite old - since then we have also rented the 2nd half and its now about 1000 sqm of space and we have 70 odd car's, mainly classics. The bay is basically made from kitchen furniture smile
i thought it might be. still you have tool chests for the heavy stuff.

this is quite 'inspiring'... maybe if/when i get settled nr MK i might have to see if any of the chaps on here want to look at doing something this.. (Podie??!!). i'd like to get a couple of cheapo classics whilst they're still legal - 2002, mk1 mx5, maybe an mgb gt (it always surprises me how cheap these things are) etc etc...

If you can find some land do what we've done - buy some shipping containers, weld them together in a big U-shape two floors high, then put some corrugated roofing over the open bit, instant workshop, just add welder.

I can highly recommend it smile
Much more fun if there's a few of you getting together. It#s very family like with barbecues etc. going on at weekends - also, you get to swap cars, which is nice!

I'm currently in the planning stage to replace a too small single garage with one of these.

from memory (awooga awooga stalker alert) you said ages ago your garage was at the back. seeing as you (awooga awooga stalker alert) have a georgian townhouse does that mean you pretty much mean you front the road? and so this contraption will go in the 'backyard'?

By the way Funky, is there a Mr Funky as your garage looks almost too good to have had any male influence?

Thanks all, it's not finished yet as it needs all the photos/memorabilia/helmets/mirrors/tv hung on the wall on the opposite side! But then again when is anything really finished :P It didn't take all that much time actually and it was done for the diablo because the other garage was a bit too thin and this garage was only used as storage space. I'll show a before and after pictures. All that was done was it was cleaned up, painted white and tiles layed. Tiles were used as we had to level the concrete anyway and it wasn't much more to add tiles after levelling and we needed some kind of covering. It's not perfect for working on the car but it can be worked on in other areas anyway. I have a handy floor washer/polisher that only takes about 30 mins to go over the whole floor once its dirty. I think thats all the questions covered wink

We do get along well, it was a worry initially - all down to group pressure I believe smile
We have a "public" working area with an hydraulic lift and tool chest at the other end of the garage - amazingly very little goes missing from the tool chest. Having said that, very few people actually do extensive work on their cars, it's more like they do cleaning etc.

Amazing what a lick of pint will do Funky and I love the tiles. I would love to have them in my garage but as I do a lot of work in mine the prospects of droping something heavy and hard are too high to risk.
When I build my new place I will look to use them in the car storage area but not the workshop.

Also great to hear you did it for yourself, we need more women like you. Please post some more pics when it is finished.

It's not much. But it's mine. And it's fantastic to at last have a garage to put (one of) the cars in, after years of no garage space. Good thing about this one is there's lots of space to move around the cars/work on them/open doors fully, etc.

Got a barn too which is currently home to 4 cars (2 non running), an MC, a rowing boat, a snowscooter, 2 trailers, and assorted junk.

A clean garage:

That's the moneyshot for me, gives me something to aim for. Thanks smile
agreed +1 im working hard for this!!! its only a matter of time!!!!
Good luck to both same beedub particulary you seem to be doing extremely well for 23years old and the rate you are going this will only be a few years away until you have a garage to rival the one picturedsmile I too hope to get something like this in the future but they are many years of hard work and studying until I can achieve it.
Thats cleaner than my kitchen!

sadly i suspect that Jay Leno kinda wins this one ....

and thats just the bikes!!
sadly Leno doesnt post on PH much,

there is a fella on here, cant remember his name, but his list of Cars is endless, F40s Massas's etc, and has a pic of each on his profile of a garage that looks like it holds 8 cars no probs,

then theres Tbops, which ruins every thread in similar vein!
Im having a thick moment, why do i ruin it?

Come on then TBOPS, lets see the garage, we know you have the cars but is your garage pimped enough to compete with Funky, the challenge has been thrown down....
