Just completed the roof on this garage for someone’s private collection..

Only 38m long by 15m deep…
Mega. Fair play.

Can't remember if I updated my pics on this thread, but we basically converted a very old damp carport into a proper garage by repairing loads of wall damage and repointing with lime mortar and then spray cork was blown onto the walls and tin roof which has totally stopped damp/ condensation as promised by the contractor. Electrics and a 5m roller shutter door installed. Spray cork application was about £3k with vat.
I've painted the concrete floor for now but will probably use some floor tiles now having rediscovered this thread!

That is brilliant Mr Muncher, sir! What is the lift model please?
Wait til you see the staircase!

The lift is this one: https://automotechservices.co.uk/products/as-6140a...

I had to get it unloaded by a tractor as it’s so heavy…

The ceiling height is about 3.1m, specifically so I could fit this type of lift in and get it to full height with the VX on.

That I couldn't tell you! It is however very resilient and seems hard wearing.

Some of these garages are amazing and extremely neat and tidy. But where are you all storing those off cuts of wood that you might need in 13 years time?

Heh heh heh!
This indeed....I reckon most posters here have a shed round the back stuffed to the gunnels with the real junk!!

I have some long bits on ceiling mounts above out the sectional door....& a bin with other 'useful' offcuts.....but the rest of ours has become rather a dumping ground at the moment......unphotographable!

I've had to renovate and re-roof an old shed in order to make somewhere to store bits of wood and junk that might come in useful one day. biggrin

Managed to get the ex Facebook marketplace sliding doors up in the workshop to separate it off from the garage. Ran out of time sanding them down and cannot decide on what to use for the final finish anyway.

Looks more like it should have a pulpit than an inspection pit! Impressive.

clap

That why I've never put a picture of my garage online. I know there's a VX220 in there somewhere

That would just me leave both in there…could not be bothered with the hassle for a fun ride or drive.

Ha, I love this. Just did a big tidy up of mine on the weekend, still got a couple of random pieces of wood on the worktop though.

If it doesn't belong in the garage , it's in the shed (s)

Same for gardening stuff, it's not going in the garage.

I posted a few pictures in the garage flooring thread because, as opposed to paint or tiles, I went out on a limb and put down cheap wood effect flooring, really pleased with it so far and it seems impervious to oil dripped on it. Over the winter I have been panelling the ceiling with white faced panel board. Mainly to reflect light, and because it's a lot nicer then the exposed black roof felt that sucked all the light out of the place! I have made a small storage area on the left but mostly I wanted to retain the open look vaulted of the exposed timber. Yes I know it's only softwood timber trusses, not oak but I think it looks ok. It's a bit of a labour of love because I have to clamber up into the rafter with the nail gun to attach it but as I'm retired I do it a few bits at a time. Once finished I can add a few (repro) enamel signs as wall decorations/space fillers. After my recent efforts I'm over half way there so I thought I'd post a few pics. smile
