It's all down to pwig.
I'm not sure what this means - but it is actually all down to the 500.This is THE most fashionable car in the mass market right now. Nothing to do with FIAT as a whole, simply one hot product.
The cars have improved massively, my recent experience with a dealer has been totally shambolic though.
Took advantage of the free 48 hour test drive on a Bravo - my wife was (!!) genuinely interested in one.
Turned up at said dealer bang on time to collect the car - was provided with a filthy dirty (inside and out) 1.6 Multijet, also passed a brochure and advised " you can ignore the price lists - we can knock thousands off the list price"
Car was pretty impressive tbh - returned it at stated time on the Sunday and found a totally deserted showroom - after waiting around for 15 minutes we still hadn't seen a soul, we ended up putting the keys in the letterbox and leaving a note on the reception desk telling them were the keys were, also requested that someone contact my wife to talk about a deal.
Eleven days later and we have not heard a thing - well done guys, you have lost a sale - things must be so good for Fiat that they can afford to severely *iss off genuine potential customers.

We had a 1995 original Punto and it wasn't a bad little car at all. EVen scraping it down a post and exposing it's zinc-coated steel didn't bring on any rust. The next gen Punto was a real step backward though. I rather like the look of the new Punto, Bravo and 500 which is good because they can't build big cars to save their lives. Bring back the 130 Coupe.
Wow a company specialising in small cars does well when fuel costs are going up and the country is going into recession, who'da thunk it!
Lets hope the dealers have improved since my horrendous Ulysee and Biturbo experiences, the best one was a mechanic locking the keys in on the ramp then damaging it breaking in,then demanding the loan car back whilst my car was in their bodyshop and threatening to call the police and report it stolen when I refused.

Decided to go for a diesel 500 with all the trimmings instead of a typical company car and have no regrets. Great place to be in trolling round M25 and getting 58 mpg average since getting it.
Well done Fiat. My first car was a 1965 500d with suicide doors bought for £31, ELK516C. Wish I kept it worth quite a lot.
From being almost bankrupt a few years ago to their success now is wonderful. Perhaps the may buy Jag off Tata???

Lurv that little car and want one; a thousand times cooler and more iconic than the Universal BMW Mini.
My wife has a Mini Cooper and loves it. She even gave it a name. At her suggestion, we recently gave the 500 a good look, although we didn't drive it. The car costs less than a Mini, and doesn't quite have that same BMW feel. However, this is a very cool car, and seems to be a very big hit with the young. It kind of reminds me of the niche that the VW Beetle had when I was growing up. Sometimes small is big.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
