Thanks Ash, I had to move to another company who would offer classic insurance just to keep this affordable. Sadly Flux offered more than double the premium. I have had great experiences with AF and tried my best not to leave, but the bottom line wins unfortunately.

I got a quote today from Flux and mentioned PH and the chap said he would apply the discount but didn't ask for my user name... I', sure he did apply it but surely unless he takes my sign in then I could just be making it up?

Hello
We would normaly take your word for it when doing a quote. Once a policy has been set up we may ask for your username as proof.
Thanks

Hello

I currently insure with Adrian Flux with a policy that started back in April, mainly because of hearing good things on here. I seem to be a bit slow on all this discount gubbins though and didn't realise that PH'ers got a discount. Is there any way that I can get the benefit for the next six months up to the next renewal or, even better, have it applied to the full term of the insurance? It may well be pie in the sky stuff but it is always worth asking!

Cheers
Richard

Hello Richard
Its worth having a look to see if anything can be done if you have not had any Pistonheads or owners club discounts so far. If you want to PM me your name and post code I can have a look for you.
Thanks
Ash

Can you explaing why when I declare I am doing 1000 buisness miles per year my fully comp quote came out at £1200 and tpft came out at £675? Bearing in mind the car is worth £1800 and I do 10k a year. The girl that sold me the (tpft) policy said it was because I would be spending more time in the car!?

Thanks

Frank

Hello Frank,

I'm not sure if I'm missing something from what you have said. TPFT will generally be cheaper than fully comp as you are not covered for as many things. Fully comp will pay out for damages to your vehicle if you have an accident that is your fault. Where as TPFT will only pay out damages to your vehicle if the accident is someone else's fault (or fire or theft).

Thanks
Ash

Hello
I have found your details and passed them on to a manager. It appears that the clerk you spoke to has referred your details on to the underwriters to see if we could compete with your best price and has maybe not heard back from them. I have asked the manager to look into it and contact you either way.
Sorry about the inconvenience.
Thanks
Ash

Well I'll continue to be disappointed with AF then. Used to good. Past rnewals had flyers saying "we'll beat any quote you get", then when asked to, you decline.
