Anything German has to be disqualified surely?

Can you really say that any Audi or BMW is as truly not-as-nice as a Corsa or something French?
It's called personal choice, isn't it?

We don't all like the same cars.

And believe it or not, everything German isn't gold. Some are truly just turds with glitter on them. wink

I got as far as the Ford list price for a Focus 1.6TDCI Studio Estate.

I laughed so hard, I just gave up.

It depends on the price, but £30k for a 116d and getting on for £50k for a Rav 4 sized soft-roader is still bags of cash considering what you're getting in return and what else you could have had, so I think they're still allowed, but only with small engines - the twin turbo 3.0d makes it a much more attractive option.

I agree with this a lot more.

A gutless car is far less appealing.

I am utterly, utterly astonished at some of the prices being asked here for what are, in some cases, absolute ste cars! eek

Bit of creativity here, had to use the French site as they dont sell them in the UK anymore....not surprising really

I suspect this comes close to the X3 in terms of a complete waste of money

I give you the Peugeot 607

50,710 Euro = £47,388

Only top ranking french civil servants need apply!

Indeed, I can think of few things as miserable as being given one as a company car, then realising what the P11D value of it is hehe

As Volvo don't seem to have added the 1.6D S80 onto their website yet I've had to stick with the 2.0D, still with a manual box for this one...

Well if we're bringing our garlic munching neighbours into this then I'll see your 607 and raise you a €56,429 (£52,732) Renault Vel Satis tongue out

I managed to spec this pig up to 37 grand!

Yep you can get a 150bhp diesel soft top with ancient underpinings and little torsionally rigidity for more than a new Porsche Boxster

Not really entering this, but I was at the Porsche centre at Silverstone (their driver training centre) and they had a Cayman spec'd to 72k, thats pretty impressive for a base of £43k that's a big % increase.

Nice first post biggrin

Anyone who spends £30k on that motorised skip needs their head looking at, I'd rather have the green steel-wheeled 116d posted earlier hehe
