Stupid question - someone has made that from 2 cars themselves, haven't they?

Didn't think they made an E46 M3 saloon...

I want an RS4, I obsess over a Zonda.
I agree with NotDave.

It depends on a certain person.

Some people may worry about people that spend loads of money buying a Golf R/Polo GTI when they could have the (insert car name) or the same car/platform from a cheaper brand. wink

I am not saying you ate wrong buying them, but some variety is good. :

Good point. I didn't see that on small iPhone screen.

Still nice nonetheless. smile
Correct, The E46 was only built in Coupe and Convertible form from factory.

There is dream like obsession which is reserved for F50s, Zondas, McL F1 and SR-71 Blackbird ownership.
Then there is real world, possibly obtainable with some sacrifices which, for some will be in the 3k bracket, others 20k and so on.
Both can gnaw away at you just as hard.
I would say the just out of reach obsession is the most pervasive though.

Mercedes-Benz SSK (specifically the one restored and owned by Ralph Lauren (Count Trossi body):

Factoid: The SSK was the last car designed for Mercedes-Benz by Ferdinand Porsche before he left to found his own company.

Insurance for a Fiesta Zetec S as a first car? Very, very expensive if you are a guy, if you are a girl it will probably be quite reasonable.
Mine was quoted at 1600 to insure when I got it (it was my first car), which didn't seem too bad at the time. I ended up bartering the price down. Absolutely cracking cars, no doubt, but getting on a bit now and prone to rotten sills and arches like every other Fiesta of that generation. Given the way insurance prices have skyrocketed for new drivers now, I imagine they could be pretty hefty to insure now as they were a bit of a boy racer favourite.

but we don't obsesses about the cars we own, they are the closest thing that meets our requirements in our budget range

but surely obsession is about the unobtainable not what your budget is or how much your prepared to strap yourself up with debt, it is in my mind should be the car you would buy first with a 100 mill euro win, and for me that would be a Zonda, followed by a SWB quattro, then a 6R4, then a V8 morgan biggrin

5200, look at the admiral multi car policy, only way forward if you want something with decent performance.

It actually doesn't make much difference for me frown, tried with 2-3 different cars on the policy, including female drivers it did fk all.

That sucks..

I am still getting Provisional quotes as I am only 17 and yet to pass the test. I can get insured for £88p/m.

Once passed I was told that it should be around £2,000. Which may seem a lot, but it is the same as a dull box (for me).

It's not a lot mate, I was 2400 for my mk5 Zetec S when I passed back in april. At that time the 1.6 was only around 100 more to insure than the 1.25.

They are brilliant first cars, don't listen to anyone who says they may be too fast. Like anything theyre only too fast if you don't drive to your skill level and the conditions. I believe they are also safer than 1.2's as you have the power to overtake in a split decision without pre-empting it like you have to in the lesser powerful cars.

Mine, smile
