Because putting cars on a rolling road and calibrating the speedo costs a lot of man hours/money, unless it is an adjustable electronic speedo.

I had an after market electronic speedo in my last hot rod, and I set it dead on, to a GPS system. It is surprising how slow most people go through speed cameras when running off of factory speedometers......

Yes that was my thoughts too, its a shame they cant think of a better more cost effective way of keeping them calibrated.. supposed electronics the way to go.. i'd still want knightrider style red led readings, none of this fancy green lit lcd

OK - wonder if a quick thread bumb can help me.............Just bought a Cayenne S diesel, and the speedo reads 8% fast. Swopped an Audi A8 for it, which read 2% over. 2% I can live with as a safety net, but 8% is ridiculous.....Yes, I can look at my Snooper, but as it moves between cars it won't always be present, and I'd rather have an accurate speedo for setting the cruise and doing trip computer calculations.

So, the (I thought, wrongly!) simple question I've spent the last 2 hours searching for an answer to is this - can a modern digital speedo (2017 car) be adjusted by a main agent, or do I have to go rogue and fit a "yellow box", which I suspect would rule out getting an OPC warranty?

Weirdly Cayenne can have a software glitch (resolved by reprogramming) where cruise doesn't match chosen speed - but not sure you really meant to post on this thread?!
