Classic Auto Express photoshop that usually turns out to look nothing like the real thing. They have just grafted the front end of a Veyron on to the back end of something from their own warped imagination.

Seeing as VW have now have a major share in porshe, could it be based on the panamera layout?

yes

They are notorious for posting completely pie in the sky stuff like this. The PH image is clearer and more complete than anything else we've seen, and came to us from a, shall we say, well connected source.

Just incase some people aren't taking the michael and haven't realised I'm guessing the exhaust pipes along with the rear vertical fin are a nod to the atlantique.

Shhh for goodness sake, its a great way of marking the clueless Sunday night car/chat show enthusiasts who've taken over.

Despite this, why is a 4 cylinder engine with twin exhausts good, but 16 cylinders mated to 8 exhausts silly? wink

Edited to add that I, for one, welcome our new Atlantique MkII overlord. (Bugatti Overlord? eek)

Ah, yes good point. Although I only remember the pea shooter exhausts from watching a Jay Leno's garage clip so I can't claim to be the EricMC of the Bugatti brand.

One thing that does strike me as odd is if they are taking styling pointers from the Atlantique for their 4 door version. Surely it should be from a Royale for the four door and the Veyron should have had more Atlantique styling nods other than the slight ridge up the bonnet? Or.. perhaps I think too much.

Has their ever been a car called Overlord? I think it has a certain ring to it...

I'd drive an Overlord for sure - doubly sure if it was a raised brick-sthouse estate of a Skoda designed by a sinister Russian drug dealer.

My first thought after being stuck behind a blue Scirocco for far too long on the M25 north circular at rush hour this evening was that it has a distinct Scirocco looking rear end/silhouette, with added lights down the middle.

Bugatti Overlord hehe that might actually be the 12 year olds (and mine) new dream car with that name!

Not from our source. Hence the cautionary note with which we treated it. I'm not so sure about that bit myself.

Damn, I logged in specifically to say the same!

Eight exhaust pipes must be for the Middle Eastern market.

If the car really appears with 8 exhaust pipes, it better be a tuner special and not a Bugatti. Whoever thought that was a good idea?

Ettore, originally. Although he did limit himself to just six. On one side.

At least by using some points of the Atlantique they're making some sort of stylng nod to Jean Bugatti, the difficulty with using the Type 41 would be that the only real 4 doors didnt have Bugatti designed body work wink the Coupe Napoleon and Berline de Voyage were both open cars (or at least partialy) and the Esders Roadster was a two seat convertible
