The Nismo would cost over 37 000 pounds before options if sold here.Yes,it probably improves on the standard car a lot,but the price hike is not small and you can probably tune your Z(bodykit, suspension, exhaust, wheels) for less, albeit the factory tuning gives you piece of mind.

I quite like the shape, it has a nice fat a rse like a 911 turbo, im fact for me it looks like the Japs have tried too copy a 911.

If I had to choose though, I'd take the 964 Cab Turbo mmmmmmmmm

I'm positive about the 370Z, saw one on the road and it looked compact and modern.

The roadster is ugly! Looks terrible. Like the Nismo - but prefer the standard front bumper.

I don't know where you got these erroneous power figures, but the correct numbers for the US 370Z are 332 hp for the regular version and 350 hp for the Nismo.

Why sell a manual-only special edition in America and not in Europe, are they hoping nobody will buy one?
V-Tech Hondas are manual only and they sell just fine in the US. Furthermore, BMW makes manual only M5 and M6 exclusively for the US market.

Probably because its a damn sight cheaper to buy the same car there than over here.

Not a lot of need for a manual there though with all those bloody straight roads and stop signs.

It would be a crime to have that car with anything else than a manual gearbox though.

It depends on the roads and traffic conditions where you live as well as how good each box is. According to Sutters, the auto box in the Z is so good that he said he actually prefers it to the manual.

Edited to say that I boneheadedly forgot to include personal preference as well, of course.

How small are the front brakes on the Nisomo!!!

I would have expected some kind of big brake upgrade... looks like a 1.2 corsa disc and caliper with 20 inch wheels!!
AFAIK they are 14inch rotors, so not exactly small.

I noticed this thread had been resurrected....

Anyway, thought it would be interesting to add that 'Car And Driver' magazine recently did some track testing of around 20 cars, one of which was the 370Z Nismo. The brakes overheated after a few laps and very suddenly lost ALL braking, causing them to plough into one of the barriers. They seem to think it was pad material to blame.

The fangs in the front bumper look awful, the Nismo fettled version looks great though
