It is frankly worrying how many tasteless and illegal plates are actually on decent cars these days given that they were once the preserve of council estate mongs.
Those were more about silly fonts and the like, weren't they?

I find it amazing that all these daft people keep a set of proper plates for the MOT and actually have the nouse to swap them over.

You seriously think an MOT station would risk their license for this? You might be right, but I suspect that most won't. Maybe in days of yore? If this is a common practise I am happy to stand corrected.

I know a few acquaintances who have got away with it, probably not common practice but there are some willing to turn a blind eye. I'd imagine if they were stopped the garages would deny the plates were on the car at MOT time and must have been changed since, not a great defence but thats me just guessing.

I'll raise you with 18 1NCH! Seen on a BMW this morning (I think).

Also saw 'K1ATH' on some middle aged womans 206cc this morning. Mutton.

I remember 'F1 GHT' being valued at £50k in the late 80's! My mate who was a boxer was drooling over it at the time.
