If you're already thinkng about dynamics and the difference from your FWD experience you're on the right track. If you approach it with the right attitude you have nothing to fear. My first RWD car was a VX220 which people may thnk is not ideal but because you can feel everything that's going on I found it very good to learn with.

When you get the car I'd reccomend a drift day at your local track (oulton park has a brilliant one) or even just get yourself on some quiet Tarmac and have a good play around and find the grip limits of the car. Just familiarising yourself with the sensation of the back coming out is a good place to start. A lot of the FWD boys talk about getting oversteer but as you will find out it's a different kettle of fish to a little lift off oversteer.

You should have fun trying anyway smile

If a girl likes cars and you are playing with a MX5, so you can better your rear wheel drive, you have pulled.

I went from an itr to a mk1 eunos (mx5) rs. Best thing I've done. Not as fast in a straight line, but certainly is in the bends, particularly the slow tight stuff and roundabouts... The itr is a great fwd car, but the handling can not compare, and the mx5 has much more fun factor, despite being slower stock (still nippy though and feel visceral enough).

Try one, you'll like it though IMO if you drive a good one. As for driving rwd, I probably drive the 5 even quicker most of the time on the twisties, and I'm no driving god !
