Not me personally but a 650S spider earlier today in Bracknell, apparently driven by a service technician.
Obviously a fault with the traction control system. Good job they discovered it while in service.
Not this one?

I think they work fine - you will notice that the rear of his car is still on the road smile

A couple of mine:

The first one was an auto which I managed to start in gear so it drove off the edge!

Second one a van came out a side road and didn't stop. The fake blood was for halloween not long after as were a few sledgehammer dents from a mate!

Do chains help with braking?

Is that a stupid question then? I've never used or seen chains used.

Obviously the driven wheels make most sense for forward traction. But is there no benefit to fitting to the non-driven pair?
Minimal in a FWD car. In an FWD the majority of control is from the front - braking, accelerating and steering.

To be fair to the driver, I've seen cars parked worse than that.

Either way you would want them on the wheels doing the steering and majority of the breaking?

If the same thing happened at bmw, the service technician wouldn't mention it and they'd see if you notice when you collect your car smile

With modern BMW "styling" you'd have been driving it around for a week before you noticed too hehe

BMW/ Mini dealership in front of our factory. They park their cars all along the roads around their place and along ours and on the verges. One of our antics turned a corner heaving with parked cars and caught a new Mini on the bar at the back of the trailer and dragged it up the road unaware.

I reckon that's either a truck or a large van that's done that, saw an artic turn around in the parking area where I used to work, it got the bumper bar on the rear of the trailer caught on one car and just pulled it and the next two cars about like they weighed nothing!!!!

Fun fact: I learnt the other day that the Americans call those bars at the back of trucks "Mansfield bars." Some googling will reveal why... :/
