Anyway, as Pistonheads was started as a TVR fansite we should at least give the CX 'massiv respec' for the wing mirrors, eh?
I thought it was the VW Corrado that donated its mirrors to TVR?

my dad used to have a white 2400 palais auto, with the chrome bumpers. love the mad other worldly design and engineering using free thinking rather than following convention. the world would have progressed a lot quicker in terms of science and engineering breakthroughs if more companies allowed that to happen. used to have a xantia with hydractive 2 suspension more recently, used to love wafting around in it and contrary to what most people seem to think, could be and was punted along back roads with decent speed and good body control. WILL be getting a DS or SM one day . . .

anyone know the name of that film with Julie Delpy, where a bunch of drugged out and crazed bank robbers are cruising around at night at the beginning of the film in a black CX?

Hated these as a kid......starting to really appreciate how different they are now though!

Although I would never want one, I am glad they are still around.

Not everyones cuppa but hey who cares smile we can't all be the same how boring would that be wink

I oughn't to like that, but I rather do! CX avec du riz, s'il vous plait.

Even the wheels remind me of some of the rather odd aftermarket ones available for the GSX3.

It's not just cosmetic smile though a respray, the original wheels will see it looking standard again.

It sat on type A Azev's for 13 years machined from blanks, there wasn't much on the aftermarket front for these things back then.

She has a direct port Wizard of NOS kit, hybrid turbo, RS500 inter cooler, powerflow exhaust, hybrid turbo, 8 injectors, re ground kent cam, forged pistons, Helix clutch, flywheel lost 18lb! MSD ignition, 044 fuel pumps, the head was gasflowed on a flow bench by Keith Calver 'mini world', the gear box is a hybrid too, CX GTI Turbo 1 coupled to a T2 diesel diff
30 mph per 1000 rpm in top, Audi anticreep wastegate mod, bigger throttle body, screamer pipe and loads of other stuff I've forgotten about. All mods declared and insured through Adrian Flux.

forty hours polishing here smile

My parent's BX17 diesel had one of these retrofitted too! biggrin

I'll admit I quite like quirky old Citroen stuff smile although I'm not sure a leaky petrol tank is very safe!

On holiday in the South of France , my brother in law and I came across what was basically some fields full of CXs, DSs and those Citroen vans that looked like they were made of corrugated iron.

It was in Provence with that mountain that is a killer on the Tour de France in the background. It appeared to be owned by a biker gang who were happy to let us wander amongst the cars for a happy hour in the 40 degree heat. Almost all the cars were non runners and some even had farmyard animals in them but all were priced very high even the CXs.

Having owned a CX2400 pallas and a ID19, I would one day love to have one again.
