Extended leather package advanced

Are people that stupid?

Surely some of the packs include some of the individual items?

I remember a great thread where people tried to make the worst value combinations which was rather amusing. Things like adding everything except air-con and painting them beige with awful wheels and hideous interiors were encouraged on the basic diesel models with autoboxes. Can't find it now.

£71,620 on a BMW 530d GT SE anyone?
I remeber that thread, but can't find it either. It may have been inspired by the TG feature?
I used to write lease quoting software for one of the UKs biggest lease companies - we used to have a laugh trying to create the worst possible combination of extras on cars with anvil-like depreciation. My record was a Tata Safari (remember those?) with stuff like alloy wheels. The effective value of the vehicle after 3 years was, essentially, nil, so the cost of this was built into the repayments. This complete stter came out at about 30% a month more than a fully specced BMW 5 series.

Was on the Merc website earlier and spec'd an S65 up, admittedly there's not tonnes of options for it but ended up over £200k!

I did this with an SL65 a few months ago. £200k for a car with stty plastic obviously fake vents on the wings like a Corsa "special edition".

To be fair, the last few iterations of the SL have had those little vents on the sides.

They don't offend me quite as much as the enormous drop in value within the first 12 months though. Probably looking at £80k on the S Coupe!

Personally I'd take the AMG GT over the SL now though. smile

On the VW one they'll happily take £84 from you for a magnetic torch for your camper.

Eighty. Four. Pounds.

For a f***** torch.

Friend of mine works at a Porsche dealer. A guy came in the other day and ordered a new Boxster (not the S, just base model). Base price was £45k and he managed to spec it up to £73k eek

To make matters worse, this was the spec he went for hehe

I don't know how much leeway a dealer has on such things, but I would be wanting the biggest ever non refundable deposit on that thing

That's got to be a guy spending money to spite somebody else, perhaps soon to be ex-wife?

The jaundiced dashboard dials just add the extra to the body organ coloured interior.

Porsche should just flatly refuse on grounds of taste and/or weakening the brand.

Didn't Alfa once try to talk Harry Metcalfe out of ordering a red 166 with a slightly-different-red interior?
