E39 740iL, which is bank 1?

Hello,
anyone know which is 'bank 1' on an E38? This is in reference to 'camshaft position sensor A circuit bank 1 or single sensor'. I assume it is on the offside (drivers).

EDIT - Title says E39. I meant E38!
