Toyota Supra ?

Wasn't there a guy on here trying to modify his to 1000BHP ?
Yes, Jamiep
That was just what I was going to say, and I think he managed to get a reliable 1000-Bhp from the car

Not sure about that - all top drag engines are supercharged and they're, what? 5000 bhp?
Top fuellers run about 8000bhp, but that's largely as a result of the fuel. On gasoline (given the relevant changes) they'd struggle to hit anywhere near that, and they'd need radiators amongst many, many other problems. Nitromethanol actually cools the engines...

Top fuel engines are 8.4 litre (500ci) V8's with very very big superchargers - iirc the supercharger alone uses up about 1000bhp.

I can't believe anyone sane would consider a relatively small engine with huge turbo boost. Have you seen how much they cost to build and repair? Something like a Nelson would be a fraction of the cost and so much more reliable. Then there's the noise!

Defiantly something big capacity. Something like this shoehorned into car car would be amazing. http://www.nizpromarine.com.au/the_engine.html check out the warranty. Those guys started in cars so should be able to sort something out.

What those big yank engines can do on PULP is amazing. This is a 440ci lsx with twin 82mm turbos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhtH1rRVfH4&fea...

Vipers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wffSrz5eRYo

I was going to suggest using a Merlin or Meteor, but I can't find any currently for sale...

Is a 1000 bhp fairly pointless in most applications though ?

The Veyron was engineered to deploy it, as a package, whereas something that just has 1000 bhp sounds fun, I would
imagine it would be a mixture of utter terror, expense and limited opportunities to actually use it, without 4wd it wont make its way to the tarmac, most 4wd systems wont put up with it and self destruct and RWD being the other option just results in a lot of smoke or the requirement for drag slicks.

Great in Gran Turismo, Dragsters and Gran Turismo but a 1000 bhp road car sounds like overkill to me.

Still, wouldn't mind finding out for myself.

I agree. Total overkill and pointless above 600bhp really. But it's bragging rights isn't it.

A meteor wouldn't have 1000bhp anyway.

TT Gallardo would be the best way IMO, assuming you have / buy a Gallardo to modify in the first place. Not sure where you could actually use 1000hp though other than an airfield or in Germany.

Nissan Skylines will easily handle in excess of this with excessive tuning. They'll still undercut most exotica even when tuned too, and they'll be reliable.

This is bks. Are internet forums the only place you do your "research"?
