And take onto account if you get clubcard points you can knock 1% off the price.

Not alot, but as they say, every little helps!
1 Clubcard point for every £2 spent on fuel since 1st October. So, 0.5% in reality.
I didn't know that! Makes it pretty meaningless then, at 1% its worth about 1.25p a litre so knocks it cheaper than someone 1p a litre less, but at 0.6p a litre I think I'll ignore that!

Tesco in Potters bar is always cheaper than BP and Murco all within 150 yards of eachother. And take onto account if you get clubcard points you can knock 1% off the price.

This is true, but Murco is always scandalously overpriced! The Sainsbury's at London Colney always appears to be a couple of pence cheaper than Tesco.
I should use sainsburys more often, I use the London colney by-pass everyday so can't really excuse driving out my way to go to tesco!

Gosh! You lot think you have it bad. My chauffeur got back a minute ago and tells me the local BP at Holland Avenue is at £1.55 per/lt.

A Tesco on the edge of Edinburgh put their diesel up 1p on 30th. It was still the same price yesterday.

No doubt up 3/4p today...

He's paying £1.25 and adding 30p per litre markup laugh

We have just been to Tesco, neede a couple of bits & pieces, ended up abandoning the trolley & leaving. The queues for the checkouts were litterally 20 deep. I could not justify queuing for probably the best part of an hour. Even if you have a full trolley you're only going to save a fiver if your shopping bill is over £200, what is with this last minute panic?

Tesco are c*nts. Spend your money elsewhere. You only need to talk to ANYONE who has the misfortune of being a supplier to them to know this.

On a 50 litre tank you are going to save approximately a whopping £1.75. I'd rather poke my eyes out with a blunt cork screw rather than queue for ever in Tesco to save that.

A lot of it is convenience, my wife shops at Tesco as there is no Asdas that is near and she can pay for her diesel with a CC without it funding any fat Nigerian bds.

Totally agree, and yes I know that makes me a hypocrit for shopping there. I normally refuse to go there as I provide services to farming & I know how badly they treat suppliers in that sector. My visit on this occasion was out of convenience (lame excuse I know) as it was only shop we passed on way home & I promise it won't happen again!

For once our local tesco is cheap ! £1.22 for Momentum 99 , just been out for a blat and brimmed the TVR on the way back.
This pisses me off, £1.31 at my local Tesco for momentum 99 today, this was Bar Hill Tesco just outside Cambridge. How can they justify 9p difference?

I find that these days TESCO are the first to increase their prices for fuel round here, and usually the last to reduce them.

The supermarket is massively more expensive than ASDA/Morrisons for the weekly shop as well.

And as were having a Tesco's rant, Tesco are now building wind farms and selling electricity to the grid. Is there anything they wont try?

I don't have a problem with wind farms renewables etc etc but I have a feeling the next thing they will offer is parking spaces so we can charge our electric cars while we shop, we will then be talking about car charging prices instead of petrol prices!

Rant over for the time being!

Market forces, they'll charge as much they can get away with, everybody does it.
