I was going to agree with garlick here, but on looking for an example in the classifieds they are all above the 3k budget, and generally above 4k even more expensive than their replacement model. scary as i had a 1991year 300E in 1997 and it only cost me 5.5k then !!!!(admitedly mine had intergalactic milage having gone past 300,000 miles before the millenia and felt like it was only just run in!

You need a ramp! We got one when our previous dogs were getting on a bit, used to plod up and down it quite happily.Our last dog suffered from spondylitis which fused the vertebrae in his spine together, but for as long as he could walk he was able to get in and out of the car using the ramp.
