TVR threads like this always upset me. The 90s seem so far away now, when TVR could do no wrong. When people my age were looking up to David Beckham, I was looking up to Peter Wheeler. Its quite emotional listening to some of the stories on here. We lost a national treasure in losing them.

TVR is dead. Long live TVR. bow

If I recall correctly the black speed 12 image is a little bit of a fraud. They wanted a moving picture of the car but it hadn’t been finished it. So they built the car up and took a static picture then Photoshop the picture.

I also have disc but I think mine is an earlier one as it has the white Speed 12 on it and not the Cerbera speed 12

So there was some development test work after all...!!! hehe
That bloke is about to say, 'yeah it's fked, take a pic though'
He is a druid blessing a car covered in icing sugar with his magic stick.

Blind faith and prayer were preferred over real testing.
LOL no danger of that Chim starting, you'd never get in it. On mie the locks would always freeze, if you did manage to open the door with the help of some de-icer the lock would instantly re-freeze and you had to spent the first 10 miles holding the door shut...

The number of times I resorted to taking the roof off and climbing over the door to get to work... Ahh those were the days.. lets all party like its 1999 ( for it was) Poor old chim living outside at the side of the road, and being thrashed to within an inch of its life every day.... never missed a beat other than frozen door locks... 2 months as a garage queen years later and the diff died !!!
You've got me feeling quite nostalgic for my old Chim...

With all considered, what could be more fun, more interesting and please a true car enthusiast's needs more than a TVR.

So I take it the single headlamps were rubbish? They just suit the simple lines of the car so much better IMHO than the fussy Tuscan style lights. Not like I'm overly bothered, of course. smile

single head lamps for the Cerbera of course, a modern classic
and Tuscan lights for the Tuscan, a classic of the future!

I am really missing those TVR threads of "old". More drawer checking please!

Yes your are! smile

Standard are pretty good if the reflectors are are not corroded to be honest.
With modern "Super Brilliant" bulbs very effective.

I have projectors with HID mains and it's like daylight!
I prefer the projector "Tuscan" style, just a personal thing.

I just wish my A4 and previous A8 were as reliable as my TVR!

What finish is the Speed 12 bodywork here? Didnt think the factory ever made a carbon Fibre one.

Ah, so there's a difference between the Speed 12 and the Cerbera Speed 12? What ever happened the Speed 12, was it raced? The Cerbera Speed 12 with the Carbon Fibre bodywork in the Pic of the Week is literally theUltimate Car - is W112 BHG that car painted?

That bring's back some very fond memories. My Griff on a warm summers evening with the roof down cruising(sometimes more) through the English countryside, nothing could touch it when it came to putting a smile on my face. Everything I've driven since hasn't come close. I miss that car, I'm now wondering why I sold it!
Shame it was so foggy that day.
Lol, once the fog had cleared!
foglights..? or main beam
The 'driving lights' on my old S3 were actually fog lights (based on the lens/beam pattern) with their own switch but were wired to operate with the main beam. God bless TVR! laugh

I was in the old TVR factory last week having some work done by the factory trimmers on my Griffith. It's nice to see the ex factory guys still working there in parts of the old factory, but also very sad when you walk round all the parts that are laying silent.
So who owns the factory now? Didn't Peter Wheeler keep the freehold when he sold the business to Smolenski?
