Yup by around 300Kg! The S only has an alloy bonnet whereas the XJ is all alloy. With the diesel the XJ is quite a lot more economical.

Not quite as much as that according to parkers but not sure how accurate they are. Still makes a difference though, and .3 of a second to 60 shaved off.

Kinda nice, isn't it, that the XJR is lighter? The top-end, bigger, more luxurious car has had proper money spent in its production and turns out lighter smile
Carfolio has the S-Type R as 1800kg and the XJR as 1665, so I guess that 140-ish kilogram difference is about right. Though Parkers reckons the XJR's fuel delivery is by its supercharger hehe
