So...Soarer's. Talk to me....
Discussion
Quick look in the 'fides tells me that you can have a V8 Soarer for LITERALLY shed money.

Now a bit of research tells me average mpg, Expensive to repair.
But V8... not slow in a straight line.
Coupe
What's not good? Insurance seems steep, but can't find a group listing for it.
edit:
As a plan, if it breaks or something happens to it.
Whip out the massive v8 and plonk it in a widened Locost.
EDIT EDIT: Le mans WAFT machine....

Say that again, and I'll kill you slowly...PS...The ' in your name cocks up the formatting...
And Sorry about the talk to me. seemed like the thing todo at the time...
I'm biased , but I think a Soarer is a proper GT car for virtually no money (just don't expect to be wowed by the interior). The trick, as with all used cars that cost a lot when new, is not to buy one that needs expensive OEM parts.
There's a lot of information out there:
Soarer World (UK)
Lexus Soarer Owners' Club (UK)
Australian Lexus Soarer Club (er.. Australia)
Soarer Central (Australia)
Planet Soarer (Australia)

A friend's mother had one, everything inside was in Japanese, so all the toys were useless. The steering rack broke, I think it's been in a shed ever since, this was prob 5 years ago.
Translations are available for the touch screen (the switches are all in English), and plenty of used spares to fix the rack problem.Google [bot] said:
If you're lucky you might find a 2.5 twin turbo manual. Not exactly a sportscar, but a lot more so. That said I can't imagine it being as bulletproof as that V8.
I was, and I did, but it cost a lot more than an equivalent auto. Still, at least there's a considerable demand for the manual bits. Edited by gareth_r on Tuesday 25th January 14:34
