147K is alot of miles for a Track car. Should be a good laugh for 800 notes though.

Not sure its a massive amount for an E30 though, mine has 148k on it and just now feels run in wink

after first trackday realism hits you and you then notice the steering is too slow and the brakes are not upto serious trackday action nothing a few more £££ can't fix though smile

You could have said that before I wrote the advert, drew the pictures and caused all these good people to get excited about owning such a pedigree bow-wow.

Pop round with my share, call it £250 for the above hassle, and I'll stick a pizza in. You won't be getting any, but I'll stick a pizza in.

You can eat the imaginary baked goods I lied about further up this thread.

The steering is indeed too slow. The next thing on the list (had we been keeping it) was a Z3 rack.

I concur.. The last time I saw full lock in action was on an airfield in North Wield with BG piloting, a lot of flappy hand movements, I number of indicators on and off and a rather disturbed rear view mirror... I'll give him benefit of the doubt and place all blame on the rack eh... wink

why no v5? Get a replacement from the dvla and add £200 to the price.

Fantastic shed, I should know I own one, a 325 tech1 sport with 189.000 miles on it, and it's off the Le mans in the summer.

I love them, my old baby...

It was just the upkeep of the bodywork that made me get rid.
Its expensive to keep on top of rot, and they do like to rot!

So true, really need to get my cab sorted this summer - right rear arch and front left wing. frown

Worth it though. biggrin

Another car that's on "the list" though saying that there's a large proportion of the classifieds that are biggrin

A mate's Mum had a black 318i E30 and even that had a good turn of speed. 0-60 in under 9secs iirc, which doesn't sound quick by today's standards but in a rwd car as light and nimble as that, it sounded like fun. I'd have to get a 6-cylinder though - need to have the noise biggrin

Rear inner arches that come away in your hand and a boot full of water. The joys of buying E30s.

Chuck in blocked sunroof drain pipes and a rotting windscreen valence and you have the full set. smile

I love E30s.

Well, yeah, if the driver's approach is to drive it like a learner with a concrete right foot. You don't see any charm in a cheap as fk track-prepped 325?
Yes, lots of charm if the track day is attended by others in old wrecks who don't mind crashing. Not so much fun if you're there in your nearly-new 911!

Regrettably more and more track days seem to be turning into some kind of destruction derby.

But yes, in itself good entertainment.
So you are only allowed to enjoy a track day if you have enough money to buy a 911 or similar according to you, must keep the great unwashed in their place, cant have them having fun and spoiling mine eh what!

Had an '89 325i sport that ended up with rot in the rear arches, in the roof due to the blocked drain pipes and the inner and outer sills happily rotted away beneath the bodykits sill covers!. It passed the MOT okay though because the small section that the MOT inspector could see was the only solid bit on both sides and they're not allowed to remove the covers! eek .

The final nail in it's coffin was the LSD deciding it no longer wanted to be part of the car and partially detaching itself whilst tanking down a motorway late one night with loads of sparks and a lot of noise! yikes . (To be fair, she did still get Me home at greatly reduced speed).

I absolutely loved that car!, 8 years of entertaining drives, just so chuckable through the twisty stuff, so well balanced and light enough to worry a lot of cars that were really out of her league (on the right kind of road). Sadly the restoration bill was so excessive she had to go!. weeping

Still miss her to this day! (I've got an E36 328i sport now, but it's no where near as entertaining!).
