Same as the previous one. "Driver's car" in the USA means manual gearbox.

An M5 is surely better in a manual? Why are we not going to have the option here?

Because in Europe the M5 is something that is principally bought new by people who bought it so they can tell people they have bought the fastest BMW available. They aren't really bothered about shifting gears; they probably only use it to drive around town anyway.

Yup. IIRC manual is an option on lots of the sporty USDM Mercs too.

how could you possibly know that? sure, they're used to drive around town....it's a 4 door every day saloon car. i've seen a few around the country-sides going out for a blast. i even saw one this christmas day driving pretty hard down one of my favourite roads.

i reckon the driver said "right, it's early, christmas morning, the roads will be empty. lets go for a hoon in the M5"

made my morning hearing that awesome V10!
