Not sure about the purpose of this, but its fun to watch! Infact it gives me confidence in my car, should I wish to plough through my neigbhours lounge and out through the kitchen.

It looks very Top Gearish, but I don't remember that episode.

That's cool...but fking hell - a bit unpleasant to watch...wouldn't like such a crash,
even if car did okay.

A single brick thickness of wall isn't that hard. Several walls with a good gap it just several things not that hard to hit.
A big tree would hurt far more.

Brick walls collapse, they don't offer much resistance. If you want an impressive crash test smack a car into a tree.

Edit: balls out beat me to it, teach me to leave the reply window open

Cool vid yes, but I'm sure EURONCAP criticised the MK3 as lacking integrity in the cabin space during their tests. If you watch the vid (where it hits something more substantial) you can see the roof buckle:

Still got 4 stars, though.

Brick walls without any foundations or anything? If you look closely, the bricks thrown forward are already starting to knock the next walls down. Doesn't take much for a 1500kg car to get through that. But I am impressed that no windows were broken at all smile

Or perhaps if a car had already been in one accident the shell could have already have been compromised, thus an unfair result?

Anyone else think that the rear suspension the car used for the reverse through the walls failed before it hit the wall? It looks to me like something broke, the car swerves at the last second and doesnt hit the wall straight.
Otherwise I think the cars held up to the crash pretty well.

That'll be the point at which the winch stops winching the car. I don't think anything fails, just the typical instability you get going backwards quickly with no-one steering!
