What a pig ugly excuse for a 'MINI'. Issigonis must be spinning so fast in his grave, you could generate electricity.

How can they possibly still call it a MINI? (yes its MINI not Mini) its fking huge. I watched it drive past a RR Vogue and intimidate it*

Just my thoughts, anyone else spotted them in the wild?

  • this may be a slight exaggeration, but they are frickin' huge...

Huge? No.
Significantly bigger than a MINI? Yes, that's sort of the point.

MINI is a brand, not a declaration of size.

I understand that, hence the MINI, not Mini.

But the name alone is stupid.

And they are huge...

I ate a VW Polo and my breath smells awful. What a stupid name for a car.

The most important question is Shirley.....

Have you finished washing your eyes out with bleach yet?

It has to be almost as ugly as that really ugly Ssanyong people carrier thing

I've seen a couple, I think they're really ugly as well as being huge. Perhaps BMW should have tried to get the Maxi name as well as Mini.

I'm just sitting in the ambulance bay at a&e at the moment and just thought the exact same thing as I'm looking at one, parked between a Clio and an Merc e classe estate and its bigger then the Clio and acutely looks bigger then the Merc as well.

Its higher then both cars. It shouldn't be called "mini" anymore really...

Luckily I had some spoons handy which I heated and gouged my eyes out completely with.

I'm actually typing in braille.

The one I saw parks on the same road as a Classic Mini, I'm hoping to get a pic of them near each other at some point, i get a feeling the comparison would be hilarious.

I have a quiet life ya know.

I've seen a few on the road and had a drive in one and think they're ok, but certainly now with a large cabin. The mini badge on the rear makes me laugh, its got to be one of the biggest in the car world.

Hang on, It's a Crossover SUV. Like the term or loathe it, it's fairly obvious what a car in that class is going to be like. So, we know that MINI is a brand and doesn't relate to size, and a highly successful brand at that, and we know that crossover SUVs are fairly bulky, what's so surprising?

It's smaller than a Qashqai, X3, Mazda CX7.

In fact, a quick google suggests it's one of the smaller crossover SUVs in it's class. Which begs the question, do you find Nissan Qashqais, BMW X3s, Mazda CX7s, just as planet crushingly huge? Or, as I suspect, is it more because it's a MINI and thus falls victim to the anti-fans.

They're not my cup of tea, but I find it hard to be offended by them as long as the X3 is on the road.

I'm not an anti fan at all, the garage I used to work at sold MINI's, and I often drove them, and I love how a Cooper S drives.

I personally think making a crossover SUV of a car called MINI is simply ridiculous, its brand engineering at its very worst. It's not a Mini, or a MINI.

Saw my first one in Blackpool at the weekend...they are HUGE!

Put an "original" 1960's Mini next to it, it would seem like a Dinky toy.

My god that looks terrible.

At least the one I saw was a (probable) 20k+ thing with nice paint and big shiny shiny wheels..
