I spoke guy with one of these at a trackday at Cadwell last summer. He said he paid £1500 for it and it had 220k miles on it. At a trackday at Silverstone he said he did 50 odd laps none stop and it never missed a beat!
They just keep going. Whatever anyone says about Honda they make super reliable cars. If you haven't driven an Accord type R do it. They are the perfect track slag now as they are cheap, love dancing all day long on the redline and have a brilliant fwd chasis with lsd.

Here's some footage of us bashing a few clio's round Oulton before the final drive & exhaust/manifold was done on ours:biggrin

We had no problems with ours dropping out the Vtec.

but we did fit 16s to reduce the rolling radiaus which made the car more versitle on track days.

I nearly bought a 2001 Accord Type R a couple of years ago. I was an ex-Warwickshire BiB traffic car so would have (hopefully) been looked after well. However, when I did some digging round I found out that the garage selling it had bought it off the BiB, done a couple of hundred miles in it over a two year period and not had it serviced during that time. I still wanted it but common sense told me to make a quick exit (especially as the garage omitted to tell me how long they owned it and also that it hadn't been serviced).

I wouldn't by an ex BiB one if I were you, imagine all the red line cold starts going out on a job...

I owned one for 4.5 years and it was great, I really miss that car. Never had a single issue and always put a grin on my face. Trips to Le Mans 4 up with luggage, no problem. A272 blasts on an early Sunday morning, perfect...

I grew up in Holland and saw reverse DAF racing and what's worse my mother actually had one. They had " variomatic" transmit ion which meant they where supposed to be able to go as fast in reverse as forward ( about 50 mph from memory). They are also rwd

I'd buy a car like that from the advert over the usuall guff any day. Honesty sells in my book.

Great car as well.
Me too, quite enjoyed reading through it
