Here's the C4S we fitted a Sharkwerks bypass to earlier today. Lovely low mileage car which now sounds like a proper 911!

The new bypass pipe:

New stainless steel fittings to replace the completely rusted away OE Porsche cat studs and nuts!

And finally parked outside all finished with its new voice! Next to my GTS with its matching Sharkwerks bypass!

Thanks Chris. She sounds lovely now. They should all be like this from the factory!

Thoroughly recommend anyone else wanting a better noise do the same.

Latest feedback from a recent UK customer after having an ABP supplied Sharkwerks bypass fitted to his 997 GTS....

Hi Chris,
Just a brief note to let you know how impressed I am with the Sharkwerks exhaust. The weather hasn't been ideal for exploring the upper rev range notes in anger, but very impressed with idle note and mid-range bark. Even my wife commented how nice it sounds and she insists on driving it as sedately as possible.

Dove House who fitted it also praised the quality of the exhaust and how well it fitted, to the extent they'll be recommending it should customers enquire about 911 exhaust modifications.

All the best,
Paul

Chris. I've just searched for your company as I am considering an exhaust upgrade on my 997.1 C4S. Is your website www.abpmotorsport.co.uk based near Stoke? I can't find any Porsche info on your site.

Yes that is us - apologies for the very out of date website....

Sharkwerks don't make any exhaust upgrades for the 997.1 C4S unfortunately.

In the same boat as the OP...I have a 997.2 and NO PSE.

I'm assuming if I get the Grundo hack that makes it sound like a PSE.

Then if I added Sharkwerks bypass it would sound like the videos of PSE+ Sharkwerk bypass?

The gundo hack makes barely any difference on the Gen 2 so is probably not even worth doing. I'd go with the Sharkwerks and then make a decision from there.

You don't really need to worry about drone with the engine behind you, but the Sharkwerks still makes it quieter than a PSE equipped 991. If you have the money i'd replace the whole system for something far more aggressive. I am a child though...

Hi Chris - does your gts have a gt3 front bumper or some kind of modifications to a standard bumper?

Thanks
Rich

Chris

How much do you charge for the Sharkwerks bypass on a gen 2 - including your fitting kit and postage? Interested in buying one!

Cheers

Hi Rich

My car has a standard GTS front bumper but I have removed the plate carrier and fitted a 997.2 genuine Porsche 'Aerokit' front lower splitter in place of the original GTS version. The Aerokit one sits further forward and slightly lower looking very similar to a GT3. Painted it in matt black to match the side skirts and the same finish as the original GTS splitter. Takes literally 10 minutes to install.

If you want the Porsche part number just let me know.

H&R lowering spring kit installed bringing the height down -20mm which in my opinion is now perfect. If you need the part number specific for the GTS just let me know.

Thanks Chris. Much appreciated. I've not got a gts. Just a c2 but like the bumper in yours. Can see lots of differences between it and the other 911 next to it in one of your pics.

I'm guessing the part you mention won't fit a c2 bumper?

Cheers

Morning Rich

Pretty sure a good parts man at a dealer would be able to show you which 'AEROKIT' front splitter would fit your car, not sure if a GTS one would be the same and doubt it would. I know the 997.2 GTS front splitter will interchange with the Sport Classic and the Speedster ones.

Thanks for your help Chris, fitted the sharkwerks bypass you sent to Denmark. Only took my Porsche indy guys an hour to fit too, not bad for a first effort. I had some BMC sports filters put in at the same time. Really loving the enhanced sound, first and second gear are brilliantly raspy around town now and it howls at the top end biggrin Its -4 here today but it hasn't stopped me driving about with the window down lol.
