GT3 996.2 How many left?

Colour does matter, but possibly not in the way you mean. My 996 GT3 is Atlas Grey, a pretty inoffensive colour that I like to think of as "stealth". Even years ago when it was nearly new, nobody gave it a second look. I've zoomed past police cars coming the other way at erm, some leptons, and they really don't take much notice; I've noticed the same with my silver & black cars. Contrast that with my 997.2 GT3 in Riviera Blue which everyone looks at, even when stationary. Bright colour means the eye is drawn to it more easily and it is thus more noticeable. If you want to be noticed, buy a bright coloured car!

I recently went to a small sports and classic car gathering in the GT3, Pulled up in the car park and nobody took any notice of my car in Atlas grey, until one guy said oh, that's a GT3 I didn't realise it looks so understated in that colour. At which point it suddenly gained a bit more interest.
So it does prove a point colour wise I think, and also I think personally its good that it is this way as it doesn't attract the attention, it almost looks like any other normal 996 to those that don't know what it is.

I think this is the point. When I bought the 'rare' Seal Grey one about 5 years ago it wasn't my first choice of colour but it was the best condition of all the GT3s that I had looked at so I bought it. At the time there were a number of other GT3s for sale to choose from.

These days there are less of them up for sale at a point in time so unless you really can't stand a colour then I would not think it is a major factor if the rest of the car stacks up. This thread alone shows that there are few enough out there that each combination of colour/buckets/wing/CS or comfort is pretty much unique - if you have your mind set on only purchasing one specific spec then you are basically setting yourself up for waiting for one specific car to come onto the market and making sure that you get it!

edit - i thought it was at 43k but yours is at 30K. There was another seal grey (Robs old one) for sale at the same sort of time, looked to be in very good condition from what i remember

I remember Cridfords had one around that time which was a club sport with Carbon interior and the rear rollcage had been painted red to liven it up a bit. I had a hard think about buying it back then...hesitated due to colour but was severly tempted.
