The GTS interior pack is the one thing that's be an absolute must if I was ever looking at one used. There's s lovely Saphire Boxster GTS and is conspicuously cheap but then you notice it has full leather and no GTS interior and it completely rules it out.
To me it's a defining feature that lifts the GTS from every other boring black Porsche interior

Hi, I really like the Sport Tex and would certainly consider it on an S but I feel the GTS is all about the Alcantra so it should be on it somewhere.I get the likeness for the additional GTS package, I really do but paying an extra £2300 for a GTS package on top of another £2300 in the first place does sting a bit - especially as it's called a GTS so should be part of the price in the first place as far as I'm concerned.

Ok, so spent the evening on the configurator and wanted some help please. I have never had an alcantra steering wheel and imagine it to be comfortable, soft and grippy and up to now have not thought of an alternative however the carbon steering wheel looks stunning.
Can anyone who has or had one comment if they get hot in the sun. I know it has a letter section but when gripping the other sections, does it feel hard or uncomfortable. I also think it's a little bigger than the standard alcantra wheel.
Any thought would be appreciated, thanks

I tried to change mine to carbon m/s last minute but it was too late. There is an agate grey 991.2 GTS for sale at Bristol OPC which was owned by a Rennlister so check it out either in person or online.I think it looks gorgeous with the matching carbon trim however i still prefer the smaller 360mm standard non m/s steering wheel as its the same one as on my recent GT4 and upcoming GT3.Can anyone who has or had one comment if they get hot in the sun. Thanks for that Taffy. It was actually the Bristol one that I was looking at on the approved used section. I always fancied red seat belts the grey one has a good picture of them but not convinced it would work with an orange car. It's that car that got me looking again at the carbon wheel, it just looks stunning but also massive (must be the camera angle). I might be inclined to go carbon more for the look and alcantra for the comfort I think.

I've just spotted my typo error which i've now corrected. After driving a 991.1GT3 at Silverstone recently which had the same larger 380mm as on the carbon m/s wheel and from my pov i much prefer the standard smaller non m/s wheel on mine.
Can't decide on PASM ride height so wondered if you have gone for the -10mm rather than -20mm are you happy with the decision? Or alternatively wish you had selected -10mm instead of -20mm. Don't want to specify axle lift either since at my ceiling on Configurator by some margin.

That configurator is just the devil in disguise at making you spend more money

To be honest I would like to add it but as also on a budget and my OPC says he hasn't had one person add it to any he has sold yet, I am inclined not to tick the box (but feel I should!!)

Hello Ernie, nice to hear from you and I really enjoyed your post. Thankfully you answered some key questions for me as I am unlikely to go the extra GTS route. How do you find the black aluminium strip around the dash and doors, does it look good as have never seen it in the flesh. I have been wondering whether to add the carbon package to replace it but your thoughts would help. You have convinced me to go for the alcantra wheel which was my original intention.
Axle lift guys....you absolutely DO NOT need it unless you have a specific personal need such as an unusually steep drive approach.
I have -20mm suspension on mine (ride height looks great by the way) and not once have I had an issue with the queens highway (speed bumps etc.) so save your money.

unfortunately I have one of said steep inclined driveways, well I only do as the highways agency/council refuse to fix the worn away road against the kerb, which has a big dip, and I tried a 991.1 GTS with the aero pack and it grounded, so not taking any risks as the road gets worse and so have to spec the front lift.
One thing confusing me slightly is people talking about -10 and -20mm suspension, where abouts is this specced please, as I haven't seen it on the configurator? On the Boxster GTS there was the option of the sports suspension which got rid of PASM and had -20mm, but I've not seen anything on the 911 GTS to signify the ride height, can someone put me out of my misery please and point out the obvious?

For the Coupe you have PDCC, or PDCC with PASM and -20mm or PASM with -10mm.
So is there no option for PASM with the Cab then, seems strange, I've specced PDCC but find it strange PASM is not available (although I've been confused by the difference between PASM and PDCC anyway)

Done about 1,000 miles in my targa so wanted to share a few of my thoughts and address a few of the issues questions re spec that ahve come up over the last 20-30 pages. I took the view that porsche put out a great car in the GTS but as always there would be the need to add certain optiosn that in fairness should be std IMHO. So I didnt go tick mad but stuck to what do i need, i dont track but may use the car more than i did the 997 GTS. So cruise control is excellent, easy to use and could be license saving in average rate speed zones, small country villages etc think of it as a pit lane control. That got a tick. Auto dimming rear mirror and rain sensor wipers are a must in a car of this std and should be std, but they are not so they got a tick. multi function steering wheel heated is great, to be able to toggle through all the functions you can on the right hand binnacle via the steering wheel is great as there are already too many buttons in centre dash . I love the alcantara wheel love it, feel, quality and when heated is a life safer also now can only imagine in winter, so it got a tick. Power steering plus is a god send for parking, you dont feel it at normal speed but its such an improvement at park speed etc over the 997 gts i cant believe it. It got a tick and pleased i did. park assist front and rear no camera got a tick just to help in tight spots camera a bit overkill but if you need it go for it, anyway i ticked park assist front and rear. Bose IMHO is a must, basic set up has no depth at speed to counter the added road noise, it got a tick, I went PDK the mode selecgtor plus the sport reposne button are epic, think of it as a kers button only comes with PDK. As for interior i went only with GTS alcantara package not the red or silver package, main reason is i dont like teh GTS logo obvious in silver or red on headrests with the GTS interiro package, i would like the double stiching but could not live with overt GTS logo on headrests so it did not get a tick, that one i was worried about, but when it came the stiching on the seats and elsewhere is quality looking so pleased how it turned out and teh gts logo on headrests is refined looking. I had 18 way seats on 997 GTS went with 4 way on this and love them, simply love them, again was worried but had sat in them prior to ordering and the clincher for me is being able to pop teh front seats forward old shcool rather than have to wait for the electric control to do its thing, colours are personal choice so wont comment on that, overall the car is performing better than expected, noise the old 997 GTS is hard to beat but the different noise in this version is worthy of its pedigree. Sport mode is only mode you get backfire on sport plus doesnt have that engine, handbook has great page where it shows what does what when in the three modes. I think these cars will come onto 2nd hand makret with more miles that prior verisiosn as they are that good to drive.
