Ordered mine mid Nov. Arrived at the dealership yesterday ready for 1st March pickup. Getting non Porsche detailer do a ceramic coating before I pick it up as my last car looked like new after 3 years with that treatment. No PPF, £4k pays for alot of front end resprays. Insurance quoted at £1250 with Hiscox, chubb and NFU based on 8k miles a year, mid 40’s full NCD. All these have guaranteed value final invoice cover so no need for GAP. Hiscox is full work cover as standard and fully comp for me and the missus to drive any car and anyone over 30 to drive my car. Im near Manchester and its grim up north obvs hence the chunky premiums although seemed ok considering the value car. App connect and all that malarkey set up now so roll on the big day. Must say, looking forward to this one. As others have said, gratuitous new car pics please.

One more thing. Hiscox is essentially excess free. If the untinkable happens and you dont take the hire car (Im assuming most of you have other cars) then the excess is waived. The excess can hurt on these policies. Food for thought...

GTS insurance ?
Just had a quote from Admiral @ £650 fully comp protected NCD, Garaged, 2 drivers age 50
How does that compare to others ?
I've been quoted just over £660 by NFU for my GTS, 6k miles, age 35, garaged. Which I thought was a bargain. Admiral for me was nearer £1200. I might end up increasing the mileage as I don't think 6k is enough

I'm contemplating getting a new GTS. Been offered a good price on my 2017 991.2 so could trade-in for a new one before the factory closes down - I'm tempted.

I'm picking my GTS up on 2nd March and I've insured it with NFU. I've got full NCB and protected, 50 in May (how the flip did that happen!!!) and in Surrey - £504 with ITP included. Very happy with that especially with the 2 year replacement policy.

Roll on next Friday, to say I'm giddy with excitement is an understatement...!!!

NFU looking good for me too. No tracker required. £530 With full NCB, mid 40s. Wife on the policy. Parking it in garage overnight only saved 15 quid vs on the drive. There is however no theft excess if it’s stolen from a locked garage. They don’t charge extra for paying by DD in monthly instalments either.
Admiral was £680.

About that same time. I only found out when I emailed them asking if there was a definitive collection date. They have said it’s possible it might move again - possibly earlier.

My insurance through Manning. Premium a little higher at £1400 but includes cover for all UK based track days, return to invoice, choice of repairer etc. Admiral quote was £600 on multi car but excluded track days.

Does anyone know how good the GTS tyres are in the wet (I live in Wales!)?

I'm taking delivery of my new GTS AWD in April and am considering changing the tyres on it straight away for winter tyres. My OPC says I don't need to as the wet performance on the OEMs is fantastic.

Coming from a Nissan GTR, I've had nightmare performance in the wet and dreadful, white-knuckle tramlining in the dry with its Dunlop run flats.

Also, is the Bose option worth the money?

Thanks

The tyres are fine in the wet, but not if it’s cold. I’ve had a couple of moments when weather is <5 degrees, but never when warmer. The Bose is worth having, i think. When you get your car, download Knowhow by Young MC and turn it up to ten. You will look like a hooligan, but it will be fun.

Just spotted you have a 4GTS. You’ll be fine.

OEM tyres are just fine, as with most things, common sense should be followed i.e. if you are new to the car, get to learn the feel and traction limits of the car/tyre.

Changing direction in very cold weather is more exciting (less predictable) on summer tyres.

Winter tyres grip so much better this time of year.

A set of winters and rims is pricy but a no brainer for me: high daily milage, less wear on the summers and better handling from 1 Nov to 30 March.
