991 GTS Must haves
Discussion
I’m just not a fan of alcantara - but I was a bit nervous about how the graphite blue leather would look. Really delighted with it - and the silver stitching picks up well with the GT Silver exterior and seat backs. IMHO the graphite blue leather stops the interior being too dark.
First journey has been from Portsmouth OPC to Ceramic Pro in Brentford, West London, so mainly A3, M25 etc, so not had a chance to test handling etc and running in carefully, but so far feels very ‘planted’ and the 7th gear (mines a manual) works well for motorway cruising.
On the subject of the mobile booster (that stopped car registration temporarily last week), mines been disconnected and will have to go in at some stage to have the solution fitted. Not sure if this is software or hardware at the moment

Hi Everyone - Long time lurker and owner of a 991.2 GTS Cab in GT Silver since February.
I have done about 800 miles and absolutely love it, save for one thing: the very artificial overrun 'burping' effect when in Sport mode. This is real problem for me. Being a PDK car, Sport is my preferred mode. The gearing works just right for me and I like the sports exhaust. But that burping noise every time I lift off at say 2000 RPM is SO annoying. I could understand if it was programmed to do it only at higher RPM or on change-down, but as it is I find it very tedious. With the roof down, it's all the more obvious.
So my question is can this be switched off in any way - perhaps by a dealer?

Think sport plus does not have it but it also revs v high maybe a custom mode with less aggressive sport plus changes would sort it I have done about 800 miles and absolutely love it, save for one thing: the very artificial overrun 'burping' effect when in Sport mode. You can either enable sport mode and disable / switch off the PSE with the centre console button - bit of a faff.
As others have said - setup an individual setting on the steering wheel "fun" dial.
I don’t believe this is possible, because switching off PSE does not in itself stop the backfire I don’t think (although it is quieter with PSE off). In any case I would like the following ideally:As others have said - setup an individual setting on the steering wheel "fun" dial.
Sport Mode
PSE on
Backfire off
Essentially the noise of Sport Plus mode with the shifting of Sport mode.
Any ideas are very welcome!

My understanding of Sport+ wrt exhaust noise was the same as Sport and PSE switched off ie. valves closed but still a muffled burp?
Sport+ gives you PSE on and no burp (you can switch PSE off manually) you can’t switch on burp.Sport gives you PSE on with burp (you can switch PSE off manually) you can’t switch off burp.
In my view the preferred sound is PSE on and no burp. This is not possible in Sport mode.
I would like to be able to switch off the burp permanently if I could.
Does anyone have any idea of how prices for 2017 991.2 GTS 2 Cabriolets are looking relative to list now that the sun is out and factory shutdown means that the model is effectively unavailable in new vehicles in 2018? I'm considering moving mine on, not because its not a great car, but because my wife thinks we need another kitchen extension! Any recent anecdotal evidence gratefully accepted.

We recently went for the Kitchen extension idea, builders rates are on the rise due to the impending nice weather and the holiday season effectively making builders and tradesmen in short supply.Hi All,
Had a look into ALA allow wheel protection but wondered if anyone could advise on the email received from ALA -
Thank you for your interest in our Alloy Wheel insurance cover and for sending a photograph of a stock Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS.
We have inspected the alloys on the photograph and they look like alloy wheels that are excluded from our insurance cover.
Diamond/laser cut
Split rim construction
Polished or chrome finish
If the alloys are any of the above versions we cannot provide a suitable quotation.
(End of email)
Sorry if I’m being thick but are the turbo S wheels on the GTS one of the above that are excluded ?
Thanks all in advance
