991 GTS Must haves

Having read this entire thread before buying mine, a lot has been said about the GTS interior pack being essential but for any newbies it’s worth noting that there are 2 GTS interior packs:
GTS Interior Alcantara pack - gives you the dash, upper door cards and centre console surround in leather plus Alcantara lower dash and extra Alcantara on the door cards - IMO this is essential to the GTS experience and is a must have
GTS interior package - you can only spec this if you also spec the above and it basically just gives you coloured stitching and a coloured rev counter (both either in silver or red) - I would say this is more personal preference and not essential
I've always thought both were essential. I have them on my CGTS and I'm trying to tell myself it's a nice to have in a 911.GTS Interior Alcantara pack - gives you the dash, upper door cards and centre console surround in leather plus Alcantara lower dash and extra Alcantara on the door cards - IMO this is essential to the GTS experience and is a must have

Isn't the gearbox in the Spanish 991.1 a bit 'pony'?
Apparently the early ones were, I’ve not driven one in an early 991.1 but I love it in my GTS, they revised it for the GTS and it’s good. It takes a week or so to get used to the extra plane on the gate so I guess a lot of people didn’t get on with it on a test drive so went for the PDK..AND7 F said:

They did revise it for the GTS 991.1. I have test driven it and i thought it was great. Rifle-bolt .PSB1 said:
I recently bought my second 981 CGTS (PDK). It is a great car - no doubt, but I think I need a bit more power. Perhaps the old adage of never going back to a specific model, always 'moving up' is correct.
I have always wanted a 911 GTS and think it's now or never. Especially a nasp one.
Does anybody know this car? Assuming it doesn't sell before, I'm taking it out on Friday. It isn't perfect - missing the interior pack and has PDDC. But it's Carmine, doesn't have the pano roof (big plus) and it's a one owner / low mileage car.

This thread has been incredibly helpful over the last couple years, thanks to all.
The time has come to move my 2017 high spec, Miami blue GTS on. Recently listed on Pistonheads, and I'm open to sensible offers.

Lovely spec, congratulations.
I just traded in a 992 for a 991.2 GTS. I had an early delivery 992 C2S. The car spent sometime with my OPC due to warranty issues, also felt a bit boring compared to my last 911, was a 991.1 GTS.
I feel the last of the line model is always a better car than the first of a new generation. Would have preferred a manual 991 Gen 1 but came across a perfect spec 991.2 GTS, Oak Green Metallic with plenty of options, RWS etc

Is that Tuffer’s old car? Go to page 140 in this thread........
I’m thinking of the same with my 992.
Yes, Tuffer’s old car. I’m thinking of the same with my 992.
The 992 is a great car but lacks excitement, I’ve run a 997GTS & 991GTS as a daily driver for the last 6 years, found the 992 too sanitised, might as well have been driving a Macan, am sure the 992 GTS & GT3 will be great cars but standard 992 has been designed to appeal to a wider audience.
Congrats, looks like a lovely car.
Agree about the 992, a superb DD but it occupies the space in my garage for my weekend toy and I think I can do better......
ETA, mine is a cab and came pre-specced by my OPC. It’s fully loaded with all the comfort features but none of the driver aids.
Did my PEC day last week in a car with PDCC and RWS and it made a huge difference to the handling. I’d like to wait for the 992 GTS but I’m rubbish at waiting.........
