Porsche car connect is free for 6 months and then after that you have to subscribe. X amount for tracking and then more X amount for pointless features. Porsche need to up their game in this respect!

Just for reference. Same sort of features are free with my 2017 Range Rover Sport for 3 years and includes remote start too for either warming or cooling the interior.
Ditto with BMW, included for the first 3 years on my M3. However after initially playing with the functions I very rarely use them now. Maybe 6 months is all you need, but pretty poor looking to monetise these features on a £130k+ car after such a short time period.

My dealer has confirmed delivery as 8th December which is not the best news and later than I would have liked. I'll probably use it for a week or two then SORN it until the Spring at which point a 488 GTB will also be in the picture.
Well done, two great cars-I bet you are looking forward to some spirited Spring driving.

The GT3 will also hopefully be a "hedge" buy and help to blunt the losses on the 488GTB.
Thank you for your concern about my finances ;-)

There's the extra security features you can control via the App too. Geo Fence, Speed Fence etc....see whether cars locked etc
Even flash the lights and sound the horn! Such technology! smile
You've explored the remote functions in more detail than I have....although when I wrote that post last night I opened the App and noticed Mrs Cheib had left the passenger door open on the Cayenne. Unusually she had actually locked it! I'm away on business in Bucharest so hadn't done my usual of checking the door handle when I got home to see if the car was locked....

I have added the smokers pack - against my salesman's advice it has to be said because I agree the rear of the centre console is nicely tidied up.

The salesman suggested it would give the impression of a smoker's car and reduce resale value which sounds faintly ludicrous. Anyone using their nose can tell if it's been used by a smoker or if there's an extra strong lemon car freshner.

The benefit, aside from the lid, is an extra power point and you can fit a 5v USB adapter in it which will sit flush with the surface allowing easiest access to recharging your phone without grubbing around in the passenger footwell.

I looked at upgrading my 991.1 in the same way and it's a non-starter. Apart from the cost of the part, installation is expensive because the wiring for it (heavy duty cable for the socket and maybe illumination) is not already there.

Being ever the child who loves his car, where do I source the Porsche Logo that is put on the rear spoiler. Our new GT3 is specced in Miami Blue and I reckon the logo would look rather good. Please feel free to express opinions. rolleyes

I've gone platinum wheels as opposed to black added PCCB's plus CS and so the list goes on and on. Biggest problem is trying to keep calm. Had a day at Prescott Hill Climb yesterday courtesy of D.Lovett Tewkesbury and got to drive the hill in loads of different models. Unfortunately I'm all fired up again.

I am going with Crayon.

In one of the videos at launch Andreas P talked about the tyres on the Gen 2 being better in the wet and making the car more useable. Anyone know if this is actually the case and if the tyres are actually different on the Gen 2?
