991.2 GT3 - Colours. Spec. Q+A. etc etc..
Discussion
If I've learnt anything from the last 4 months it's that PH'ers see colours very differently from each other ... think a lot of it could be down to deteriorating vision with old age
Here's a Lava 718 I snapped at Solihull, for me this photo perfectly captures Lava's hue in cloudy weather. I really like the colour and only chickened out of it for fear of it boring me after a year or two.

Late to the party, but was offered a '17 car by the DP last night so bit of a hurry up to get the spec agreed this morning at the dealership.
So here are the bones of the final spec:
Guards Red Clubsport
Black leather with red stitching, belts and painted vents.
Sports bucket seats, carbon interior pack.
PDK and PCCB, axle lift, wheels in satin platinum.
Few other bits and pieces but super excited abut getting the slot and haven't had the sleepless nights fretting as some of you guys clearly have!
Roll on November.
How? I thought all allocations were gone for this year, a long, long time ago?So here are the bones of the final spec:

That to me is a good representation of it. I might take a wonder past OPC Mayfair later in the week to have another look at their Lava RS. Not sure if this helps - but I think this is pretty accurate : truth is though, it can look more red than this depending on the light - but this is what I'd call "normal"
imo it's far more Salmon pink than that and for that I am out. Orange ie 997.1 RS orange was cool , Lava is Salmon pink !bit like all the fake blues on the net where people over saturate them to look like the nicer Voodoo and not like a Fiat 500 colour ;-).

Agree, Lava looks very much salmon pink. I love Tango and Bloodorange. Lava is not for mebit like all the fake blues on the net where people over saturate them to look like the nicer Voodoo and not like a Fiat 500 colour ;-).

It's the best colour match for sure :-)GT3 colours are poor this time round.
Black is a no no for most as if you plan to use it looks tatty fast.
The 4 "Special Colours" are all too trendy and will not age well plus Carmine is seen as a GTS colour, the other 3 are insipid colours !!
the only Metallic colour which looks ok IS GT silver, a classic, the rest are base model colours or SUV colours.
So that just leaves the 3 solids and GT Silver :-( White, Red, Yellow, and GT silver. with adgate brown, I mean grey :-p an outside choice for some.
Shame as GT cars need nice bold colours, Red and Yellow are doing it for me, but I have just spent 2 years in Yellow.
That's my view anyway, disappointing, Red, White or GT silver for me.

As mentioned b4 I think LO is very tricky to photograh - I don't think this is a good representation - looks more orange than In reality - really need to see it in the flesh
Only looks more Orange with sunlight to my eyes, two snaps from my PEC day, one cloudy one sunny :Either way it's an interesting colour that I think would suit a .2

Where did you get the photo of RSVP's car from? It's impossible to photograph - just been to an OPC and stumbled across this - looks different again - 2 different colours from 2 different angles - neither bloody salmon pink though - I love my car and thats all that matters : so both of you can b*gger off: (in a really nice and polite way by the way

You forgot CWM which would be one of my choices ,quiet a hard paint as well and not soft like red or yellow in 2500+ miles I have no stone chips on my GT4 and I have no paint protection! GT silver is a good choice as well but not black wheels!GT3 colours are poor this time round.

I agree. Lava Orange IMHO looks fantastic in the flesh and online and I don't see the salmon that others do but I can't get on with Miami Blue at all. It looks fantastic online but in the flesh, it looks too green to me. The first time I saw it (991 Turbo S), I thought it was a completely different colour to the one I had seen online. Guards red is one colour that can also look vastly different but IMHO, it always looks good. Here's a Lava 718 I snapped at Solihull, for me this photo perfectly captures Lava's hue in cloudy weather.
